BOB WILSON 1967 - 1986 PILOT DEN His wife, Marlis, has a recipe in 1979 FL Pilots' Wives Cookbook. -Jake Lamkins (11/26/04) Note with subscription I retired in '95. Finished work on a homebuilt LongEZ. Started flying it in June of 95. Went all over the U. S. several times until I lost my medical in 2009. Sold the airplane, still ski and work around the house and yard, play golf. The honey keeps me busy. -Bob Wilson (12/17/13) Hi Jake, Just got a call that Captain Bob Wilson passed away Monday September 25, 2023. He had been having heart problems. His wife's name is Marlis, No Memorial has been set up. He lived in Longmont, Co. I'll try to find a photo and send later. This is very sad, He was a great guy and friend. Steve Tidler RIP Captain Wilson Karen Berry RIP sir Roberta Karr I did not know he passed away in Sept and about the memorial scheduled for today. Time has a way of passing by way too fast. Bob was a favorite to fly with and he and Marlis were my neighbors in Westminster before moving to Longmont. After his retirement, my granddaughter and family spent many Halloween’s at Anderson’s Farm riding the train driven by Conductor Bob. He was a good man. He will be missed. My condolences to Marlis and his family. (10/21/23) My name is Steve Wilson. Bob Wilson was my dad. I know y’all at the alumni group were aware of his passing last September. We wanted you to know that his memorial service, which was postponed due to my mom’s health issues, has been rescheduled. Mom is now nearly 100% recovered and doing well at home on her own. We have scheduled Dad’s memorial service for a week from Saturday, on Saturday April 13, 2024. A memorial service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 1335 Francis St in Longmont. After the service, we’ll travel a short distance to have a lunch and time of remembrance at Vance Brand Airport. That will likely start a bit before noon. The airport is at 229 Airport Rd in Longmont. We would greatly appreciate it if you could get word out to the folks. The “card” below can be printed or copied/pasted as necessary. It has the same info as above. Dad’s Frontier friends were a very important part of his life, and we’re glad you were a part of it thru all those years. If any of you come to the service, please stop by and say hi. -Steve Wilson (4/2/24)
