BOB MILNE 1963 - 1986 STATION AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT, STATION MANAGER PHX FLG JLN MSN HOU Just wanted to let you know Jim Moore passed away this past month. Also a couple of months ago, I had lunch with some old FL people, namely Bob Milne, Carole Perry, Bob Ziegler, Harold Maxwell, and Don Enos..Had a goodtime. Myself, I'm recovering from 6-bypass heart surgery. -Sam Jones (7/7/99) Don Adey married Patty Seaton who was an agent in HOU. After Don died, she married Bob Milne. They live in Rogers, AR. -L.A. Fuller (5/24/03) Don did work with me in Houston. I did talk with Patty and Bob Milne on Tuesday. We went to high school together and were having our 50th Anniversary this summer in Lander, Wyo. Bob is on the missing list. I know that he went with CO but that's about it. Let me know. -Buck Hawk (3/28/10) I phoned Bob and he sounded bad and didn't remember Buck or me. I gave him the info and said Buck would be calling. I wanted more info but he didn't sound up to it. -Jake Lamkins (3/28/10) Don Enos left a voice mail that Bob Milne was in a coma and death was imminent. I phoned him back and we chatted awhile. Milne has suffered from Parkinson's many years and his wife, Patty, told Don he was ready to go. He will be cremated and his ashes taken back to the Rockies Bob and Patty got married after FL - she worked for him 15 years. Don said he was HOU manager at end and told a funny story about Jerry Parkhill being there after HRO closed and Bob was overheard telling a SSA they needed some shelving for their commissary room. A few days later the shelving was done and the TI manager came round asking Bob if he knew what happened to his lumber. Bob kept quiet, knowing Parkhill had "requisitioned" it.. -Jake Lamkins (1/21/13) ROBERT MILNE JLN station manager per Nov 1977, Nov 1978, Dec 1979, Dec 1980 FL Quick Reference Directories. Always enjoyed being around him. ---------------------------- Joe Barker RIP Bob - enjoyed working with you. (1/24/13) I made a union station visit to JLN in 1980 when Bob was the manager there. He and I were visiting in the lobby before I boarded my flight out and he took me aside and asked me to put a hand grenade in my carry-on briefcase to see how well security did their job. I had been ALEA Master Chairman less than a year and I was pretty damned sure I was being set up. There were no problems in JLN and Bob and I had an amicable relationship. He had a relaxed managerial style that kept labor management problems at a minimum so I figured DEN must have told him to set me up this way and I was reluctant to fall for it. Finally, Bob talked me into it and security caught the grenade right away and Bob came over and laughed and laughed at my uneasiness. I laughed too - and got the hell out of JLN before they changed their minds. -Jake lamkins (1/24/13) R A MILNE Station agent group seniority date of 6/1/63 per the 1/1/74 FL/ALEA Seniority List. -Jake Lamkins (1/25/13) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: HOU station manager Bob Milne's memorial webpage is posted: http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Bob_Milne.html -Jake Lamkins (1/27/13) Mike Gordon via text on 6/3/23 Do you recall Bob Milne - worked at JLN and HOU. Thanks for letting me join! What a gift to hear stories about our dad from long ago. He loved his job and everyone he worked with so much! Steve Burger Your father is Bob Milne, JLN station manager? I was there 1978-1981. He was a great guy to work with. He got me out of a jam once following a rookie mistake by a young agent. It was quite a crew in those days. After me, I think the next lowest seniority agent was 28 years or something like that. Rick Milne What a great story. So glad I joined the group. Post your remembrances of him. -Jake Lamkins (6/11/23) FLacebook Jen Milne Brehm My dad was Bob Milne and he was station manager in Joplin during the early 70s. My brother and I were probably five and seven or maybe six and eight when we were on a trip from DFW to Joplin to visit my dad . My brother and I were expert unaccompanied minors, at that young age because our dad started teaching us how to read a timetable and change gates and everything we needed to know about flying non-rev when we were very very little! Anyway on that one particular flight a flight attendant asked me if I wanted to pass out peanuts. She had no idea how unbelievably shy I was, but I did it because I always wanted to be a FA, knew that very young from traveling so much to see our dad. So I passed out peanuts and of course the passengers were extremely kind and said I was such a natural flight attendant! Well that sealed the deal for me, it became my dream, and at 20 years old I got my wings! I chose Delta Airlines and it was the best job I ever had! Thank you Frontier FAs for being so caring about a little girl and helping her recognize her dream! I think my favorite part is how proud my dad was of me!?? He loved everything about working for Frontier and being with his airline family!! (6/20/23)
