BOB FLATTEN 1965 - 1986 STATION AGENT ABQ GJT DEN Jim Wilds Subject Re GJT Reunion Hi Jake, Thanks for you interest. The reunion went great !!! There were 5 or 6 people there because they had seen the notice in either the Frontier News or the FAL web site. Thanks to you. I'll give you the details, and of course, you can pick and choose what you want to include. The weather cooperated, and there was lots of shade, drinks and food. We had BBQ chicken and pork, potato salad, baked beans, spicy pinto beans, cole slaw, rolls and butter, and two special sheet cakes. The first one had a picture of a FAL DC-3 and the date 6-01-1950, the second one had a picture of a FAL B737 and the date 8-24-1986. There were a total of 58 present, including employees, spouse, a few children and even a couple of grand-children. Those attending from GJTOO were Les (& wife Mae) Bendickson, Arnie (Donna) Bruns, Floyd (Marie) Eicher (from CA), Bob (Pat) Flatten, Jess Heidrich, Bill (Bonnie) Hofferber, Darrell (Hazel) Jones, Lyle (Barb) Kohs (MT), Jack (Sarah) Latta (TX), Buzz (Donna) Oliver, Duane (Lois) Phelps, Lee Sigwart, Ted (Donna) Simmons (TX), Larry Sumner (AZ), Verla Travis (widow of Bud Travis), Walt (Betty) Vanderpool (UT), and Jim (Barbara) Wilds. Part of what made it special were the guests from outside of GJTOO. They were Bill Barreith (SLCMM), Capt & Mrs Gary Blanchard, Dave (Sheila) Bottinelli (DEN Acctng), Marge (Jim) DuBois (DENRR), Capt & Mrs Leo Dorsey, Janamarie (John) Dugle (Flt Attndt), Bob Pearson (Relief Agt) who came in from ME, Dewey Penley (MTJOO) and Capt Billy Watkins. John Zobens phoned 2/13/07 He was looking for Bob Flatten and had seen his photo in the FRONTIER NEWS. I checked my files and didn't have anything on Bob. I suggested he contact Jim Wilds and gave him Jim's eddress. I sent Bob a newsletter 2/15/07 (2/14/07) Bob Flatten Letter Dear Jake, I would like a subscription to FRONTIER NEWS. You have already sent me a Summer 2006 copy. I began my airline employment in May 1960 with Continental Airlines in ABQ. FL was next door in the terminal and I was more enamored with the staff and operation of Frontier so I jumped ship and joined Frontier in May 1965 in ABQ as a Station Agent. I attended weather school in GJT and fell in love with that area and asked to transfer to GJT first opening for which I could qualify. I was able to transfer in May 1967 as a station agent remaining there until May 1985 when personel cutbacks at GJT sent me to DEN as station agent where I remained until Aug 1986. I then returned to GJT to work for the Mesa Co. School District retiring in Nov. 1997 moving to the quiet serenity of Crawford, Co. to remember all the wonderful times and acquaintences that Frontier afforded me. For that I quote for all, "THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES". (2/27/07) Jake Lamkins Email Hi Bob, Great hearing from you. Got your letter and check today. Thanks very much for your support.
