BILL GREINER 1967 - 1986 STATION AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT LBF LNK DEN My dad, Bill Greiner, was Ramp Supv. at DEN and had been with FAL since before my birth. He started in North Platte, then Lincoln and on to DEN. He remained until the demise. I practically grew up with the airline, and used to go to work with him all the time. I owe my love of flying and airplanes to having been around it. I felt the need to keep a kind of touch with the Frontier of old, and the nostalgia that goes with it. And pass along to my dad some of the things going on now that he is in semi-retirement. -David Greiner (2/18/07) BILL M GREINER SA FT EMP 03273 Per DEN station roster dated 8/9/86 B GREINER Seniority date of 7/1/67 on the 1/1/86 FL/ALEA seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (2/19/07) Hi Bill, Your son David visited our online FL Club and gave me your contact. I'll send you a copy of the FL newsletter and an invite to the FL Club. I worked with you in DEN 1984-86. I retired from the FYV post office a few years ago. What did you do after FL? Hope to hear from you. -Jake Lamkins Senior station agent 1964-86 (2/21/07) Seen msgs about Bill Griener, I was Mgr at LNK when Bill was there, his Dad repaired an antique watch for me. I ran into Bill somtime after the shut down of FL when I was Xferg at the DEN arpt, he was going to work for some security firm . -Glenn Emmons (2/23/07) Dad is semi-retired now. He manages an RV Campground in Gardner, MT at the North Entrance of Yellowstone during the summer season, then home to Chappell, NE during the winter. Been doing it for several years now. Seems to really enjoy it. -David Greiner (2/27/07) I was off for a short time after FL then signed on with Odgen Allied at DEN and refueled for a while until Ogden A was awarded the electric cart and bag shagger contract for CAL. I was selected to manage it. When the contract was rebid after 5 years, my wife and I moved to Western Neb and purchased an RV park. I must have been on the 5 year plan as we sold it (after 5 yr), purchased a travel trailer and went to Texas for the winter '98 / '99. Was hired by a vendor in Yellowstone Ntl Park to manage an rv park at the north entrance of YNP located at Gardiner Mt. My bride worked 5miles inside the park at a general store. She was found to be with the big C during our winter in Tx early 2000 and died at our rv home in Gardiner Jun 2001. I then worked for my step daughter for the next few winters in metro DEN until this year. I have settled in Chappell Ne for this winter and more to come. I have 8 seasons under my belt and want to go for about 10. Next winter I plan to do all volunteer work in the area. Decent health. Well you asked for some history after FL and I have rambled on some. Was good to hear from you, I also got a note from Glenn Emmons at about the same time. -Bill Greiner (3/1/07) Hi Bill, Great to hear from you and find you've thrived since FL. I can set up the dual addresses with no problem. Remind me when you send the check. Glenn saw something about you at the FL Club and contacted you. Your son posted several emails about you. I'll be looking for your letter and hope you join the FL Club. Regards, -Jake Lamkins (3/2/07) I just discovered this web site. This is Jim Burbank 1967-1986. Thanks so much for making these available. I just looked at all of them. Foto 62 of Bill Greiner and the unknown forms agent. That's Gary Smith. I don't know if you remember or not, but he had that real raspy voice, sounded like he had laryngitis, but it was that way all the time. Foto 225 is when we worked that PEX 747. The guy on the left is Doug Kempfer. Can't tell on the others. The only fotos I'm in are at the bus stop waiting to go home. -Jim Burbank (2/14/11) Bill phoned and said his new computer worked swell and he loved the online FL News and I could take him off the mailing list. He asked about the FL Club and I suggested the FLacebook as as better venue and he accepted gladly since he already used Facebook. -Jake Lamkins (4/25/12) FLacebook Good morning everyone, it is June 7. My Name is David Greiner I am Bills eldest. I am monitoring his FB account and here is why- so you all can be updated and informed: Late April after a Pacemaker, Defibrillator implant he lost his balance in his apartment and could not muster the strength to get up or the ability to call for help. He was in the floor nearly 24 hours before some of his neighbors contacted the authorities. Since then he hasn't been able to muster the strength to continue to live on his own so he made the difficult decision to move into the Miller Memorial Care Center in Chappell. This will be his home from here on. I have been in Chappell since Memorial Day to help get him settled and to look after his bills and close down his apartment. He is in good spirits, although often getting a little bored because he was so active, but all in all doing well. if you have his cell number, that hasn't changed he still carries his phone, but he doesn't have email access or FB access anymore. I am keeping his PO Box for a while PO Box 15 Chappell, NE 69129 if you feel compelled to drop him a note or a card I know he would enjoy hearing from his friends. I will periodically update you as things move on. I also update my FB account with his status so feel free to look there as well. -David Greiner (6/7/16) Tell Bill that all his friends at the Old Frontier Airlines are thinking about him and hoping better days are ahead. -Jake Lamkins (6/7/16) Bill was Sr Agent on a lot of my flights. Jake (11/15/19) Good Sunday everyone. I posted this past week about my father's death on Wednesday. Dad always insisted not to make a fuss. I have spoken with his Pastor at the United Methodist Church in Chappell, NE., his home and hometown. We have decided to remember him during the worship service on December 1 at 9:00am (Mountain) during the transition between the Sunday service and the communion service. I will be in attendance to represent our immediate family. Anyone who has the opportunity and wants to attend is welcome to do so. Dad had requested when he was cremated that he be divided, and per his desire we will place part of his remains with his wife Charlotte in Denver, part with his grandparents in Chappell, and the final part with his Mom, Dad, and brother in McClelland, just outside Council Bluffs where they all lived. We will plan these events to take place late Spring or early summer next year. When they get set-up. I will let everyone know. If you have any questions please message me or call if you already have my number. Thanks for all you kind wishes for us this week. -David Greiner (11/17/19) B GRIENER Emp# 03273, ORG 3301 - DEN DOH & station agent seniority date of 7/1/67 DOB 9/3/41 Per the Oct 1986 FL/ALEA Seniority List. -Jake Lamkins (12/9/19) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: LBF LNK DEN senior station agent Bill Greiner's memorial webpage is posted at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Bill_Greiner.html -Jake Lamkins (12/10/19)
