AL WELLS 1968 - 1986 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, LEAD AIRCRAFT MECHANIC DEN WIFE WAS DEN SECRETARY RUBY COLWELL WELLS I was an aircraft technician/lead in DEN Maintenance for nearly 20 years. After FL I worked at CO for a short time, but it wasn't a good 'fit' for me. After trying several other areas of interest, I agreed to become a consultant to an aircraft repair facility in Goodyear, AZ (just west of Phoenix). After one month, I accepted a permanent position with them and moved to Arizona. The repair facility subsequently relocated to Dallas, but I chose to remain in AZ and have now retired. -Al Wells (4/8/04) Hi, Jake: I have an extra copy of the Frontier America Federal Credit Union Rand McNally Family Adventure Road Atlas (1987) that is in pretty good condition (the cover is separated from the staples, but complete). Shipping weight is about 1-1/2 lbs. Free to anyone who will pay postage cost ($6). -Al Wells (11/7/04) Hi Al, Can you scan the cover and email me a pic? What size is it? I'm trying to remember which publication it is. -Jake Lamkins (11/7/04) Jake Keep up the good work. Love every issue. Had a great time at the PHX picnic. -Albert Wells, Lead A/C Overhaul (1/28/06) Thanks so much for your great contribution to the old FL emps. I hope you can keep it up for a long time. Thanks again, -Al Wells, FL# 9295 (1/26/08) A A WELLS Aircraft mechanic seniority of 3/23/68 on the 11/1/76 FL/IAM seniority list. Lead aircraft mechanic seniority of 9/27/78 on the 11/1/80 FL/IAM seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (1/26/08) Note with renewal to Frontier News: Oops, I messed up! Sorry I missed so many issues. Best to you and Frontier. -Al Wells (7/23/12) Darrell Lowe Does anyone know whereabots of Terry Carlson or Al Wells of Old Frontier? (6/12/20) Nothing recent but I have an old phone number for Al and an eddress for Terry that I will text you. -Jake Lamkins (6/13/20) Hi Jake The number you have for Al Wells is good. We talked for a spell. He is 88, he and wife Ruby doing well. Ruby was secretary in one of the Frontier depts. Lives in Sun City, AZ. Way cool. -Darrell Lowe (6/14/20) Linda Lorberau FLacebook request to join 7/18/22 My mother and father, Albert and Ruby Wells worked there in I believe the 70s and 80s. Al was a mechanic and Ruby worked in the hangar scheduling maintenance on the planes. I do not know the exact years or seniority dates for them. OKayed 7/18/22 Carolyn Boller Got a call from Albert Wells' daughter today -his wife Ruby is deceased and Albert is in a memory care facility. The daughter says she has 4 boxes of items -that she would like to sell - shirts, coats, glasses, silverware etc. Her dad was in maintenance and think perhaps Ruby, his wife, worked there as well. Not sure. (7/18/22) Linda Lorberau Jake, as you know I am trying to clear out my parents Frontier items to help pay for dad's care. I ran across an old money clip and have no idea what to even ask. If I sent a picture to you, would you be willing to help me price it? (5/3/23) Yes, send it on. I have found Ebay.com a good place to find OUT what things are worth. You can search completed auctions to get the selling price of stuff. You can also "save searches" and Ebay.com will email you when Frontier things come up for sale. I hope Al is hanging in there. Tell him hello from the Frontier Family. -Jake Lamkins (5/4/23) Linda Lorberau Al is doing pretty good health wise. His memory is getting worse. There are a lot of times he doesn't remember anyone. It's hard, but it is what I have come accept from that nasty disease. Thank you for helping me. I use Ebay all the time, but I am pretty sure this is a really old logo and haven't been able to find anything with this logo. What do you think I should ask for it? (5/4/23) Jake Lamkins Sorry to hear Al is ailing so badly. Here's a clip like yours from my file. The F logo came into use in 1978 and was still used when we crashed in 1986, so it is not that old relative to Frontier which started in 1950. I would guess a listing of $40 would be a start. If that is too high you could always lower it. Or you could list it low for maybe $10 and hope the auction process would run up the price - let the market decide. Or post it at FLacebook and see if any of the FLamily would like it. (5/4/23) Linda Lorberau Jake, I wanted to let you know that dad, Albert Wells, passed away on March 19th. (3/29/24) Jake Lamkins Gee, Linda, I'm sorry to hear that. My condolences to you and the family. I'll make a memorial webpage for him. I don't have a photo of him. Send me anything you would like for the webpage. A pic from his Frontier days would be great. (3/29/24) Linda Lorberau Jake, I could not find a picture from Frontier days, but this is a good one of him. This pic was from 1996. He didn't want an obit so there is none (4/10/24) Jake Lamkins I'll let you know when it's ready. Probably a few days. Send me anything you want added on it. I think he was in some type of exchange program where he was sent overseas to work on and train people on how to work on planes. He loved Frontier and met mom while working there (4/11/24) FLacebook FLIGHT WEST POSTED AL WELLS 1968 - 1986 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, LEAD AIRCRAFT MECHANIC DEN http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Al_Wells.html Post your remembrances of him.
