He joined FL later on and we did get to visit from time to time - long ago.

This photo was taken at the Albuquerque old terminal in 1965.  
It shows all ABQ agents except Cliff Brown and includes the crew of this flight.
Left to right:
    Al Horne (fueler), Al Ruoiz,  Dave Spicher,Jim Hildebrand, Okey Willams, Jim Wilds,
Tim Mulville, Bud Knudson (Mgr), Co-pilot Boyd Stevens, Dean Kirksey, Walt Albany,

    I think this was one of the last DC-3 flights from the ABQ station when the Convair 340's went into service.

Here is a picture of Walt Albany shortly after he retired in ABQ.  
I just came across it recently. 
Since it is much better than the one taken from a group photo that was used for his obituary, 
you might want to use this one instead.

I'm not absolutely positive, but I believe Walt was number two ( 2 ) on the agents seniority list just behind Vern Crawley, Senior Agent at PHX.  
I also believe Walt started with Monarch Airlines, but not sure about that either.  
Anyway, he was station manager in Gunnison, CO for many years, then transferred to ABQ as a senior agent.  
Sorry, but I can't remember when he came to ABQ, but it was prior to 1964 because we were still in the old terminal at that time.

My grandfather Walter Albany worked for Frontier for 31 years. 
In Gunnison and Albuquerque. I work for Southwest Airlines.
He's the reason I followed him into the airline industry. 
I have all of his Frontier memorabilia. 
I also worked with a few of his former coworkers.

once in a while on the counter - great guy that could do it all.

I remember Walt very well - not a lot of patience, but he knew how to do it all. 
He often had a great, quick and sharp sense of humor. 
Walt helped make the Frontier crew at ABQ a fun place to work.
