VON FULENWIDER 1957 - 1965 PILOT OKC MKC The Tuesday Nov 26 edition of the Democrat/Gazette has an obituary for Von Elric Fulenwider Sr of Hampton AR. He was a pilot with Central Airlines in either the late 50s or early 60s. If you can pull up the web site www.ardemgaz.com and search for obituaries you can find it. I tried to e-mail it to you today but they do not have the obits loaded on the web site yet. -Jim Hicks (11/26/02) Posted at the FL Club Does anybody remember Von Elric Fulenwider? Jim Hicks noticed an obituary in the paper that said he was a pilot with Central Airlines in the 1950s-60s period. He just died at age 68. -Jake Lamkins (11/26/02) I remember the name. I think he flew either out of AMA or MKC when I worked in LBL in 61 and 62. -Buddy Griffin (11/26/02) I remember Von Fullenwider very well, he started out with Central on the DC-3 and progressed. He was a very nice fellow and a good pilot, I flew several trips with him. Would appreciate you copying his obit on the ExFal net. The copy of the Demazette we get with the NWA Times does not have the downstate obits unless they have notoriety. Also others on the net probably would appreciate the information as well. -Ken Stewart (11/26/02) OBITUARY HAMPTON - Von Elric Fulenwider Sr., 68, of Hampton died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002. ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE (11/26/02) The Von Fulenwider's first name that I knew at CEN was Grady but most people just called him Von. He was originally based in OKC and came to MKC when the OKC base closed. He was a very good "stick" and a real character too. He quit CEN just when he would have gotten checked out on the CV-600 after flying Captain on the -3 for several years. He was basically an Arkansaw cropduster at heart and had been doing some dusting on the side. Nobody could figure out why he quit but most of us thought it was probably "duster related" since he was doing alot of that on his time off from the airline. Von was a nice guy; I'm sorry to hear he's gone. -Frosty Frost (11/27/02) Subject: Grady Von Elric Fulenwider Just heard of Von's death at 68. He left CEN before the merger, I believe, to return to crop dusting. Got to meet him once, but never got to fly with him. Heard he was a "good stick". -Clyde Hart (1/21/03) CAPTAIN GRADY V. E.
