I worked several temporary jobs at DFW after Lawton closed. That is where I learned to root against the Cowboys. Charlie and I had a few discussions about the Cowboys, mostly friendly. Wally was not in good health in the early '80's. Although I didn't work with these guys for a long period of time it saddens me to hear about their deaths. "Curly" Green? -Jake Lamkins (1/22/04) Yes, I remember Tom Green. I worked with him at PRX for several months about 1954 or 1955. I didn't know he was ever the manager in PRX. He wasn't while I was there anyway. He was a nice guy, and a real ladies man. He did get married to a nice girl (don't remember her name) while I was there. I think he worked at Love Field for a while, but I think he may have been with another airline at Love (BN?). -Joe Max Johnson (1/23/04) Email to Joe, et al: Thanks for the info, Joe. Was he called Tom or did you hear him called Curly? This all came up when I was running Central Airlines through the Google search engine. An obituary item came up showing Thomas E. "Curly" Green having passed away Apr 6, 1996, age 61. It also mention he and wife Carol lost a 9 year old son in a motorcycle accident in 1973. The article is from the Paris newspaper and says, "His father is a former manager of Central Airlines at Cox Field here." -Jake Lamkins (1/23/04) We always called him "Tom". I don't recall anyone calling him Curly when I worked with him. Yes, Carol was the name of the girl he married when I was at PRX. I still have found memories of PRX. I took my bride there in spring of 1953, just married. It had been an early wet spring and the roadsides were wild with bluebonnets! I have been thinking of trying to go to one of the FSM-FYV picnics. Maybe this year! -Joe Max Johnson (1/23/04) Thomas E. Green PRX station manager Seniority date 3/5/56 on the 1/1/62 CN Agent Seniority List He is not on the 1/1/74 FL/ALEA list PRX not on route map after 1976. Do not know when Tom left the airline.
