SCOTT TYRA 1981 - 1986 MARKET ANALYST DEN FLacebook I sent a message to you from a spouse of former FL employee - Scott Tyra. Did you receive? Scott worked at HQ. He's a great guy. Their son was born just after the shut-down. Scott and I worked side by side at Allegiant Air. He is Director of Schedules/Planning. Their son Ben worked for me at Allegiant before I retired. Ben is now at Spirit. Their Son designed the insignia for National #2. All have FL in their heart. -Mike Gordon (6/8/14) I sent Jodi an invite to FLacebook. -Jake Lamkins (6/8/14) Tomorrow, 6/9, is Scott Tyra and my 30th anniversary! Yes, 30! I gave him his present a day early! We got these posters from the original Frontier Airlines in Denver, CO. Scott worked for them their last 5-1/2 years of operation. When they shut down we were pregnant with Ben Tyra! (2-1/2 years later Ben was paid for! Ha!) We've had the frames, that didn't fit, but a good friend and woodworker helped me surprise Scott! Yea! Happy Anniversary, Scott, I LOVE YOU!!! -Jodi Tyra (6/8/14) Jodi joined and Mike posted: I had the joy and experience working next to Scott at Allegiant Air for 5+ years. Although we both worked at the original Frontier Airlines we didn't know each other back then.... Scott's son Ben worked for me at Allegiant Air. Both Scott and Ben were exceptional co-workers. (6/8/14) Scott Tyra Update - - Scott is in not so great shape right now. We came to UCLA for him to have surgery, removing fluid and scar tissue from around his new lungs. His lungs were being constricted by the fluids. Scott took a turn for the worse on Friday night, unable to breathe. We came to UCLA on Monday. Surgery has been postponed because they discovered Scott has the flu (still no fever), plus an arhythmia in his heart, his left lung has partially collapsed due to more fluid build up around his lungs. They feel the heart problem is caused by the flu. Now we wait for the flu to go away, see if the heart improves, then figure out how to fix his lungs, all the while taking various drugs. Drugs are wonderful! Don't let anyone try to tell you different! They work! In other words, he's a hot mess right now. We have all the faith in the world with the team of Drs, nurses and staff here at UCLA. We just need time and patience for healing. And lots of good vibes, prayers, etc. Ben Tyra (4/8/15) Scott Tyra Update - 5/16/15 - Scott's Lung Journey Continues - We've been home, in Vegas, for 2 weeks since Scott's escapade with flue, pneumonia & 5 viral infections that attached his heart and gave him heart failure at UCLA. He has a heart monitor he wears 24/7 at the ready to shock him back to life, if need be. He is on oxygen again 24/7 at a high rate. I take him to work every day cuz sitting at home is pointless. His breathing is terrible, he has no energy, he only weighs 135 lbs. Imagine not being able to walk across a room without getting winded and having to rest to catch your breath......... WE RECEIVED A GREAT CALL YESTERDAY!!! The Drs have consulted (Scott must have been the subject of much conversation this past week with his team of Drs) and have decided to go ahead with the planned surgery to go in and clean out fluid and gunk from around his lungs to make room for his new, fantastic lungs! Scott is HAPPY about this! He goes in for surgery next Friday, April 22! WOOT! Keep those happy thoughts coming, Scott needs to start hiking again! Ben Tyra Scott is former FL planning / HQ. He received new lungs earlier this year. Unfortunately his health has deteriorated greatly. His family is with him and hoping for Scott to be at peace. -Mike Gordon (4/16/15) Thanks for the info. I've seen their Facebook posts. Wishing him the best. -Jake Lamkins (10/25/15) Scott's son Ben called me a short time ago. Scott passed away earlier. Scott was with FL 1981 through the end. I will forward any update from Ben or his mother Jodi. Following FL - Scott worked with America West, Western Pacific and LAS based National Airlines. He started with Allegiant Air following National. His son Ben was born in DEN a month after the August 1986 FL shutdown. Ben is with Spirit Air. I recall that Ben as a kid designed the National logo.
