PRESTON BLATTER 1952 - 1962 COMPTROLLER, VP - TREASURER, VP - FINANCE DEN Also worked with J. Paul Jones and remember his wife, Dotty, very well. A great lady. He joined us in Public Affairs after the Central merger. Recall a time when Gov. Love had a special charter flight going up to RAP with invited guests for a hunting trip. My brother and wife happened to be visiting me at the time and went to the airport to see this flight with all its dignitaries depart. Governor Love invited my brother and his new bride to go along to enjoy the flight and then return with the crew. They were thrilled, of course, and still talk about it. Boy - did that picture bring back memories. L. Preston Blatter was the man who hired me at FL just two weeks out of high school. (1956) Think the only reason he took a chance with this green kid was because his own young daughter was having a tough time getting a job with everyone asking what experience she had. And, Captain Ev Aden was without a doubt one of the finest people I ever met. We all loved working with him. Dan Love, the Governor's son, also went to work for Frontier. If I can dig up anything further, will get it off to you. -Ann Yanulavich (1/29/02) 1952 - Annual Report. Frontier Airlines. DIRECTORS: Hal S. Darr, Emil N. Levine, Glenn C. Taylor. Ray M. Wilson. He probably left when Maytag sold Frontier and Lew Dymond became president. -Jake Lamkins (11/30/12) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: DEN vp-finance Preston Blatter's memorial webpae has been posted. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Preston_Blatter.html I found out about him while researching Buddy Faught's death. -Jake Lamkins (12/1/12) My good friend Pres Blatter was fired by Bud Maytag. He came to my office - sat down and said "Cal, I've just been fired by Bud, no reason, no thanks"! Pres then became president of Alaska Air. He called me from Seattle, asking my thoughts on some station matters. A fine gentleman - high I.Q., such as "When in doubt, ask questions." I later on reported to John Ahlquist. He was open minded; needed in our administration. A big help in my transition from PHX mgr. I thank all personnel of FL for their support. -Cal Reese (1/28/13)
