I recall Pete making several "field trips" to STL to repair aircraft with mechanical problems. I recall assisting him and another mechanic change an engine on DC-3 outside in the cold and Pete never complained and maintained his positive attitude throughout until done. I, also, recall Pete having me sit in the cockpit of DC-3 and hit the start switch to turn the engine to each cylinder while he looked for a "busted" piston. I would sit there scared to death I would hit the wrong switch that would start the engine!! During break times, he would tell us stories about his experiences during the war, usually funny ones. Condolences to the family. Jim Mustain (3/27/11)
