My name was Mary Jane (Janey) Bailey and I flew out of GSW 1965-1968. 
I was in the class with Nancy Tipton and Jeanne Hamilton.        
Nancy Tipton Clopton, I am sorry to say, 
passed away from an aneurysm while playing golf a few years ago..

Hi Janey,
Do you have any further info on Nancy's death so I can put together a webpage for her.
I looked in the Social Security Death Index but had no luck finding her.
Do you recall her age when she died, what year, and other info?

Nancy Tipton Clopton born in Jan 1947 died May of 2000. 
She was married to David Clopton and they lived in Garland, Texas. 
Nancy and Dave raised two daughters Terri and Kim. 
They were all avid golfers. 
Nancy died on the first green of the Garland Country club 
of an aneurysm while playing the game she loved.
I am going to attempt to attach a picture. 
That is me ,Janey Bailey Swanson on the left and Nancy Tipton Clopton in the center. 
It was taken in March of 2000 at her daughters wedding reception. 
We were in the July 1965 training class at Central Airlines and remained the very best of friends. 
If you would rather have a picture of Nancy in her Central uniform...
I will gladly drag out my Central scrapbook.

I thought I had one of Nancy in her uniform...But it is a newspaper clipping and will not scan well. 
This is a picture of her taken about that same time.

I did forget that after graduating Nancy  was based out of MKC for the first few months. 
I think Nancy flew for almost five years.
Central also sent her to Las Vegas to the Airline Stewardess Beauty Contest (or what ever it was called). 
Nancy was a wonderful person, she had a glow similar to Doris Day...I miss her so much!

I am totally blown away. James just came to get me to show me Janey's post about Nancy. 
I was in the last Central class, graduating in July of 1967. 
Janey and I were roommates for a while in Irving and then Nancy, 
Janey and I moved to Dallas and roomed together until Janey got married. 
Then Nancy and I roomed together until Nancy and David got married. 
I was in Nancy's wedding and Nancy was my matron of honor in our wedding and was seven months pregnant at the time. 
We lost track of each other through the years, mostly my fault for not keeping in touch. 
I have some pictures of Nancy that I will look for and post.
She was a terrific person and a great roommate. 
I wasn't a golfer myself, but used to go to the golf course with her on our days off and I'd walk around with her. 
What synchronicity that she died doing the sport she loved.

Her tombstone shows she married Jan 3, 1970
so I will assume that is when she quit Frontier.
Her husband David died eight years after her.
