MARK CHARLES 1967 - 1986 STATION AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT MKC ABQ DFW ELP We worked together in ABQ, and along with several other agents, including John Gibbs, Mark Charles and Bill Lutrick, had a rolicking good time. -Steve Galusha (11/7/99) I don't know if any of Daddy's old friends from Frontier have heard, and I didn't know how to contact them anymore so I thought this would be a good way to inform them. I found this website about a year ago and never got the opportunity to view it with him. Mark Charles died in Amarillo, Tx. on 12-25-07 from a brain hemorrhage in the hospice ward of an Amarillo hospital. He began his career as a station agent with Frontier in 1967 at MKC, from which he transferred to ABQ after about a year in service. Around 1983 he again transferred to ELP where he worked as a senior station agent until the dissolution of the old Frontier. During his service with Frontier he made many good friends and sincerely enjoyed his occupation. He was an extraordinary father and a true asset to the human race. He is missed by his friends and family. -Randall Charles (07-20-08) Hello Randall, I'm sorry to hear about your dad. We had not heard and I will get the word out. We have a website, online club and newsletter. Can you email his obituary and a photo or two. I will build Mark a memorial webpage at our website. Thanks for letting me know and my condolences to you and your family. -Jake Lamkins (7/20/08) M CHARLES Station agent seniority date of 7/5/67, Emp# 01377, on the 1/1/86 FL/ALEA seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (7/20/08) Posted at the FL Club: Subject: ABQ ELP station agent Mark Charles died His son, Randall, emailed: "Mark Charles died in Amarillo, Tx. on 12-25-07 from a brain hemorrhage in the hospice ward of an Amarillo hospital. I will try to have photos for you soon but I have to sort through a large amount of them to find that time frame. It also doesn't help that daddy was not to fond of being in front of a lens. Please bear with me and I will get them to you as soon as time allows. -Randall Charles (7/25/08) FLacebook My father Mark Charles started in Kansas City in 1967 as a station agent. He then transferred to Albuquerque where most of his Frontier career was spent. I grew up with the airline and got motivated to seek a career in aviation due to its influence. I had contacted you before on the FAL website you webmastered when daddy passed in 2006. I used to spend hours at the airport when he was working and got to know many of his colleagues. I have since become friends with another offspring of old Frontier. David Winter, a pilot with FL Group and my self were doing work for them. Would love to reconnect with some of those that used to be FLamily with that great old airline. -Randall Charles (10/6/15) I still need some pix for your dad's webpage. I'll add this one we found today too. -Jake Lamkins (2/7/19) I have not been able to find that I thought was fitting for it. I wanted one of him at the airport but haven't found one. There used to be one framed in ABQ's ops with most of the crew I would like but don't know where to find it. I grew up with those guys on that airport. Maybe someone has it or a copy somewhere. -Randall Charles (2/7/19) May God Bless your Dad, I have flown thru Glendive and Albuquerque many times. I'm sure your Dad made my stop on time every time, Thank you!!! -John Winter (2/8/19) FLacebook - F Club FLight West: Mark Charles ABQ ELP station agent Mark Charles' memorial webpage has been updated at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Mark_Charles.html Found a photo of Charles to add and added a few items. -Jake Lamkins (2/11/19)
