Gloria Walmsley phoned me seeking info on FL.
She left in 1983 or 84 and was based in DEN her entire career.
She will be 65 later this year.
She was friends with Maizie and Lela Williams OConnor

I appreciate your continuing to maintain the old FL website. 
I do want to report the death of flight attendant Lela O'Connor of cancer in January 1996.
Lela was 50 when she died.

I just got word flight attendant Lela O'Connor passed away in Jan 1996.
My source said it was cancer - first I heard about it.
Does anyone have more info?

We all knew Lela O'Connor very well.  
But when this happened we had all spread to the 4 winds in 1987.  
Most of us flying for CAL were either in EWR or IAH.  
I see her sister at the Golden Penguins meetings (old CAL ladies).  
We were all devastated, she was a great lady.  
I think she had been sick for a long time.
When I have time to dig, I probably have some photos of her.

I remember her when I first started flying out of Denver. 
She was very warm and welcoming. 
Being on reserve and brand new was very intimidating. 
I will always be grateful for her kind encouragement.

I loved Lela - it was always a "trip" to be around her. 
She was always so full of life, even the last time I saw her at one of the reunions. 
She was in a wheelchair but she still had that devilish smile on her face.

Lela was always up beat and fun to fly with. 
Her name is on one of the monuments at Mt Lindo. 
I believe she passed away in 1996.
