LELA O'CONNOR 1967 - 1986 FLIGHT ATTENDANT DEN Lela is in the 1979 Frontier Family Cookbook. -Jake Lamkins (12/6/04) Gloria Walmsley phoned me seeking info on FL. She left in 1983 or 84 and was based in DEN her entire career. She will be 65 later this year. She was friends with Maizie and Lela Williams OConnor -Jake Lamkins (6/13/12) I appreciate your continuing to maintain the old FL website. I do want to report the death of flight attendant Lela O'Connor of cancer in January 1996. Lela was 50 when she died. -John Feldman (1/28/13) FLacebook I just got word flight attendant Lela O'Connor passed away in Jan 1996. My source said it was cancer - first I heard about it. Does anyone have more info? -Jake Lamkins (1/28/13) We all knew Lela O'Connor very well. But when this happened we had all spread to the 4 winds in 1987. Most of us flying for CAL were either in EWR or IAH. I see her sister at the Golden Penguins meetings (old CAL ladies). We were all devastated, she was a great lady. I think she had been sick for a long time. When I have time to dig, I probably have some photos of her. -Bonnie Dahl (1/29/13) I do know it is true Jake. I went to Lela's funeral. I will see if my friend Trisha Flueger Hood has any pictures. -Sharon Trumble (1/30/13) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: DEN flight attendant Lela Williams O'Connor's memorial webpage has been posted. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Lela_OConnor.html Still need an obituary. -Jake Lamkins (2/1/13) I remember her when I first started flying out of Denver. She was very warm and welcoming. Being on reserve and brand new was very intimidating. I will always be grateful for her kind encouragement. -Martie Palser (2/1/13) Thanks for your work - it's very nice to see this after all the years. -John Feldman (2/2/13) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: Lela O'Connor DEN flight attendant Lela O'Connor's memorial webpage has been updated: http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Lela_OConnor.html Still need an obituary for Lela. -Jake Lamkins (5/25/15) I loved Lela - it was always a "trip" to be around her. She was always so full of life, even the last time I saw her at one of the reunions. She was in a wheelchair but she still had that devilish smile on her face. -Roberta Brashears (5/25/15) It was always a treat when she flew trips into DTW. Always the bright smile. -Ron Abfalter (5/25/15) Couldn't agree with you more, Burt. Lela was always up beat and fun to fly with. Her name is on one of the monuments at Mt Lindo. I believe she passed away in 1996. -Roberta Karr (5/25/15) I too loved Lela, she was a lot of fun, like her sister who flew for CO. -Ruth Pitts (5/25/15) Lela was so much fun. -Ann Whitlock (5/26/15) Will miss that girl, sooooo many good times and stories. -Cherylann Mauro (5/26/15)
