He still held that position in Jan 1983 according to the Jan 1983 FL Telephone Directory. The 1984 Frontier Annual report shows him vp and assistant to the president, apparently replacing Bill Wayne who is no longer listed as an officer. Do not know if he was still with the company at bankruptcy. -Jake Lamkins (12/12/12) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: DEN vp John Ahlquist's memorial webpage has been posted. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/John_Ahlquist.html Post your remembrances of John. -Jake Lamkins (12/14/12) Ahlquist Burial Note The picture is fairly recent and I think he looks just like he did when he was 18 mos. There were four of us from FL - Kathy Walker, Marv Pester, Sharon (Hooper) Morneau, and I. We all introduced ourselves to the family and they seemed glad to meet some of his coworkers. He was cremated and buried immediately after the service in a memorial garden on the church grounds. -Geoff Morneau (12/20/12) My good friend Pres Blatter was fired by Bud Maytag. He came to my office - sat down and said "Cal, I've just been fired by Bud, no reason, no thanks"! Pres then became president of Alaska Air. He called me from Seattle, asking my thoughts on some station matters. A fine gentleman - high I.Q., such as "When in doubt, ask questions." I later on reported to John Ahlquist. He was open minded; needed in our administration. A big help in my transition from PHX mgr. I thank all personnel of FL for their support. -Cal Reese (1/28/13)
