JIM BUTLER 1951 - 1985 STATION AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT, STATION MANAGER DEN GJT PRC PHX TUS LAS On March 12, 1964, I was invited to a TUS station party by TUS Manager and friend Jim Butler. While on my return flight to PHX from TUS, the FL captain called me to the cockpit to inform me of MLS accident and that Jim Montgomery, Director of Customer Services, wanted me to call him just as soon as we landed in PHX. -Cal Reese (10/26/02) My name is Ginger Ann Treptow, I worked from Frontier Airlines from 10-6-57 till its demise in 1986. He was 85. He retired in 1985 with 34 years with Frontier. -Ron Butler (3/30/06) I remember Jim Butler. A big red-faced fellow and PHX sounds familiar. -Bill Monday (3/30/06) Jim Butler is listed in several issues of The Sunliner News and Frontier News. The Sunliner News, Sep 1957, lists Jim in Prescott, AZ. (PRC) as Station Mgr. The Sunliner News, Feb 1958, lists Jim as the new Station Mgr. in PHX. He was a senior agent in GJT and was the Station Manager in PRC, PHX and TUS. He had 34 years with the company when he retired in 1985. He is why I worked for FL and many other carriers, and am still at the airport with US Airways. He loved working for FL , especially the early years in GJT and PRC. -Ron Butler (4/2/06) JIM BUTLER At all times a fine gentleman enjoying a close knit and loving family, Jim joined FL and our DENOO station group (at age 30) on Nov. 21, 1951. We were pleasantly surprised when he and Paul Hilt (started at DENFL on 8-24-51, age 28) joined us as new station agents, bringing some needed business maturity and they quickly adapted to all facets of the station and improved our overall performance. As I recall, Jim transferred to GJT, thence to PRC manager, followed by PHX manager and then TUS manager. (This subject to correction and necessary infill) Several years prior in 1956, we were both reporting to regional manager John griffiths (Jim - PRC & Cal - FLG) and then from 1964 to 1968 we both reported to Capt. Bert Clark (who moved from division chief pilot to regional manager; Jim the TUS manager and I was in PHX. During all these years, I learned to appreciate Jim's acumen and friendship, both on the job and away. In a quiet, unassuming manner and with a minimum of folderal, Jim did exemplify the vast majority of those folks that made Frontier the BEST! An outstanding aspect within FL: EACH job ws as important to our success as any other, whether it was president, a board member, or any other categorical position, each was honored as a necessary member of the FL Family and it is still in evidence today, maybe even more so now. Jim Butler knew and lived this well. May the Lord's grace and love abound with us all. -Cal Reese (5/18/06) JAMES BUTLER TUS station manager per the Jan & Jul 1970 FL Telephone Directories. ------------------------------------------------------------------ J W BUTLER Emp# 01187 Station agent seniority date of 8/16/65 per the 7/1/84 FL/ALEA Seniority List. ------------------------------------------------------------------ J.
