JERRY BAUER 1959 - 1986 STATION AGENT, RELIEF AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT VTN AIA BFF SNY LBF LNK I am Jerry Bauer FAL employee # 0836 hired on with FAL May 30, 1959. Worked in VTN for 2 years AIA for 9 or 10 years and then on to BFF as a relief agent to SNY for about 2 years then from BFF to LBF with the same position and then regular agent in LBF for about 10 or 11 years until 1983 then took Senior Agent in LNK until 1986 when we all said good-bye to our great Airline. I was out of work in 1986 for 3 weeks went to work for Am. Tracy and I were in North Platte over the weekend. Dad has deteriorated to the point where he does not have enough energy to hardly even shuffle around anymore, and Mom is not big enough to muscle him around. Last Friday night it got to the point where she got him to the bathroom and then he slid down to the floor and she could not get him back up. The ambulance crew came and hauled him to the hospital. We were there over the weekend with him, and now there is good news and bad news. The good news is he is back home. The bad news is that will almost surely be the last time we will be hauling him back home. We met with the hospice care folks yesterday. Tracy and I made a run back home last night while my paramedic cousin from Alliance stayed with them. My sister and her husband are on the way to Mom and Dad’s place right now. No one knows for sure how much longer he will last, as of this morning, I am betting it will not be long. Dad spends most of his time just sitting with his eyes closed. He is aware we are there, recognizes everyone and certainly can hear us, but it is difficult for him to say even a word or two. He will open his eyes and look at us often. In his eyes I see a little boy, but I also can see that is still there, still with us, still knows us, still loves us. Don’t know how much longer he will be there. The blessing since this whole thing hit last December is that he has not had any pain. Sure there was pain from the brain surgery, from the incisions etc., but even now he has no pain. He is just worn out, no energy, nothing left. All of this will not be easy, but we will get through it. One of my cousins from Valentine was down and spent most of the day with us yesterday. We laughed. We either laugh or we cry and sometimes we do both. As I am able, I will keep you posted. As I told you last December, just knowing that folks care and are thinking of us and praying for us means a lot, it really does. -Daryl Bauer (5/13/14) Jerry was a man all could trust and a great addition of our Frontier Family. -Jonnie Jones (5/20/14) Jerry Bauer passed away in LBF two or three months ago.
