JACK PRATHER 1952 - 1986 STATION AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT OKC DAL DFW J W PRATHER Seniority date of 3/25/52 on the 7/1/84 FL/ALEA seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (8/5/06) I am sending to you a copy of the Obituary of M. Lamar Muse as it was reported in The Dallas Morning News. I did not get to know him that well, but I met him at DFW after our station won a contest as to beating our quota for passengers boarded and total cargo. He and one of the Vice Pres. came over and was to do our job for the day. One flight came in and he and the Vice Pres. helped unload. We split up our duties and my selection was to deliver transfer and local bags. We had this big tug with castiron fenders. He wanted to drive so I sat on one fender and the other guy on the other side. I directed the way to local bag delivery and then we delivered the transfer bags. He had a pair of coveralls over his suit and he was wearing his nice shiny dress shoes. Of course we got all bags delivered and he had this big smile on his face. I wondered many times if he remembered that day when he got to go from President of Central Airlines to doing one of the duties of a station agent. He seemed that he enjoyed driving that big tug and he never lost that big smile. -Jack Prather (2/9/07) Jack Prather phoned to tell me DFW asst manager Terry Hansen died this morning of a heart attack. He said Terry had beat cancer earlier and lived in Laka Havasu City, AZ. His daughter, Christy, called him about an hour ago. He saw Terry about two months ago. Terry, Ted Simmons and Larry Thomas were asst managers in DFW under Dick Gibson. Jack said he worked at DFWFL about a month tying up loose ends after the bankruptcy then got a job at a warehouse for a year. TheN he got on with DFW airport and retired from there in 2001. He has some pix that he will send along with Terry's obit if he gets one. -Jake Lamkins (5/20/10) Tessy Prather phoned to tell me Jack flew west yesterday. She is his daughter-in-law. She told me he was 83 and gave details on funeral. -Jake Lamkins (7/28/17) FLacebook - FL Club Just got word DFW senior station agent Jack Prather flew west yesterday: http://www.donnellyscolonial.com/fh/obituaries/obituary.cfm?o_id=4319614&fh_id=12925 -Jake Lamkins (7/28/17) He was a nice guy -Steve Cosgrove (7/28/17) Jack was one of the good guys.. -Phil Stallings (7/28/17) He sure was Phil. -Karen Ward Berry (7/28/17) He was a great guy -Sheril Guerrero Rodgers (7/29/17) One of our very best!
