JACK CASEY 1966 - 1986 STATION AGENT, PRESIDENT'S ASSISTANT ALEA MEC CHAIRMAN, ALEA REGIONAL DIRECTOR DEN HE WAS MARRIED TO DEN TCA LINDA CASEY AND LATER, DEN SECRETARY MARY DAZEVEDO CASEY I just had a call from Linda Casey Hamala is Arizona, Jack Casey has just had a brain aneurism and is in the hospital in critical care ,,,, doing okay now but we agreed that he could use the ol Frontier get well medicine by hearing via cards from his old friends.. Would you please take the time to send him get well wishes, he will be in intensive for probably a week and then in the hospital for at least another 2 weeks.. We need to spread our great Frontier helping caring attitude around... Thanks to all, Love, -Bev Cummiskey (2/13/03) I'll get a card out to him. Maybe I should remind him of the time he slammed my fingers in the car door while we were "out on the town" in Chicago. Dang, that hurt! Especially after the alcohol dissipated and I could actually feel again. ;-) -Darrell Robson (2/14/03) OMG....I remember Jack....always such a nice man...Les and I will be sending him a card -Mary Pat Simpson (2/15/03) Jack was a DEN FL agent and former FL MEC Chairman. He handled FL & the Rocky Mountains area for the ALEA International. -Jake Lamkins (11/9/04) Trish said their burning up the air waves about the P. A. program. Having been one of those fine gentlemen flying aboard our 727's and a couple to times on the vomit comet better known as the CV580. As I recall, , the program started in the latter part of 1967 and went out about 1969 in the fall I think. Vince Davis was the Manager of the program. Yes, Jack Casey, Jack Bass, Rich Cunningham, Jim Dawson, Chuck Fahrenholtz, Fred Stevens were in the group. I think we had about 10 or 12 that started the program and we added some more after about six months into the program. The Co. put the special phone on the aircraft so that we could call directly into reservations. My wife, Trish, was one of the Res. agents that put up with us. They had a volunteer program called the C. S. R's that was on most of the flights. I think this was sometime in the early eighty's. Trish was also in that program. I'll look through some of my old papers and see who else was in the P. A. program. It was a great program while it lasted. -Buck Hawk (11/24/04) JACK CASEY Late last year President Herbert announced a restructuring of HQs staff. Among the changes was the elimination of the five International Representatives’ positions as full-time jobs. All five International Representatives were offered positions at HQs in other capacities. Only Del Bunce, who already operated out of HQs, accepted. The other four, John Hayes, Jim Brancart, Mac McCray and Jack Casey declined the move to Chicago. Jack Casey was hired as a station agent by Frontier in 1966 and he became an ALEA officer in early 1969. He was elected Council 73 Chairman in 1972 and elected Master Chairman later the same year. In 1975 Jack was re-elected to both positions. In January 1976 he became Regional Director when John Scott, a former FL Master Chairman, moved to Chicago to assume new duties. Jack served as Regional Director later retitled International Representative — until early this year. On February 22 he returned from union leave to work at DENOO. Jack remains on HQs staff as a part-time consultant. There isn’t enough space here to relate all the things Jack has done for the FL membership. Suffice to say that the 11 years he served as Master Chairman, Regional Director and International Representative accomplished a great deal and we are all in his debt. -FL ALEA Newsletter, Mar/Apr 1983 Sent by Tom Harding's widow, Yvonne. -Jake Lamkins (4/5/05) I HAVE BEEN IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH JACK FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND HE IS DONG FINE AS FAR AS THE ANEURYSM WENT, BUT NOW HAS BEEN DX'D WITH EMPHYSEMA, HOWEVER HE HAS QUIT SMOKING AND ONLY HAS TO USE OXYGEN AT NIGHT. He was at home and died in his sleep. No arrangements yet of course. -Linda Casey Hamala (6/5/13) I am truly sorry to hear that. Jack and I spent a lot of time together doing union work. Please let me know as you get more info. -Jake Lamkins (6/5/13) Used to have some great times with Jack whenever we had a union meeting in Denver or Chicago! RIP friend! -Darrell Robson Besides his union work he was the best damm weight and balance man and the coolest gate agent you could ever have! -Linda Casey Hamala (6/6/13) My friend who supported me in stuff when no one else would. He will be missed,,,RIP -Beverly Cummiskey (6/6/13) Oh boy! I just was thinking of Jack last week and wondered how or what he was doing. -Carolyn Boller (6/6/13) One of my last acts as FL ALEA Master Chairman, in Apr 1984, was to present my union mentor, Jack Casey, with the 1983 ALEA Award of Merit. I nominated him for it and it was approved unanimously. Since learning of Jack's death, I have been flooded with memories of the wars we fought, the hundreds of grievances we tried to win, and his unwavering dedication to unionism. The lessons I learned from him are too numerous to count. He righted more wrongs, did more good deeds and supported more people through thick and thin than anyone else ever on Frontier Airlines. It was a privilege to be associated with him and to call him my friend. -Jake Lamkins (6/6/13) J P CASEY Station agent seniority date of 7/6/67, emp# 01311, DOH 5/23/66 DOB 11/24/36 per the 10/31/86 FL/ALEA Seniority List. He lost ALEA seniority while a president's assistant. He was 76 years old. -Jake Lamkins (6/12/13) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: DEN station agent Jack Casey's memorial webpage has been posted. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Jack_Casey.html Jack served many years as ALEA Master Chairman and Regional Director. -Jake Lamkins (6/14/13) It is wonderful Jake and brings back so many memories... we were married from 1968 to 1980.. in fact, when we got married we had to keep it a secret because at that time it was forbidden... until that judge in texas ruled that f/a’s could be married and then a lot of folks came out of the closet in air and on ground. I have had people ask me why I am going to the services since he is my ex.. I just say, "You dont know Jack".. Hey, I made a joke! -Linda Casey Hamala (6/14/13) Sandi Bambei Schara and I attended today’s services--- Jack was cremated and buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery… He was born November 24, 1936 in Schuyler Nebraska and died on June 3 2013 in Morrison. His Granddaughter gave the eulogy that described Jack to a tee--- and his nephew sang a song called the Wild Rover (I think) and it couldn’t have described Jack better. I have the program they handed out and I will drop it in the mail to you. -Carolyn Boller (6/18/13)
