Jack O. Burnell was born on March 8, 1903 and died in Galveston, TX on August 22, 1992 at age 89.  
He started at Monarch Airlines on January 1, 1946 and was Director Of Maintenance & Engineering.

Pop Burnell was 68 when he began work with Monarch.
He retired in Apr 1953, the first FL employee to do so, at the age of 75.
His son, Jack Burnell, started with Monarch on Jan 1, 1946 and became director of maintenance.
Jack died in 1992, aged 89
Does anyone know when Jack retired from FL?

Two memorial webpages have been updated.	
Pop Burnell was the first FL employee to retire - in 1953 when he was 75.
Pop was an aircraft mechanic in engine overhaul.
He was 68 when he started with Monarch in Jul 1946.
Working for his son Jack Burnell who started with Monarch in Jan 1946
and was director of maintenance and engineering.
Pop was 93 when he died and Jack was 89.

Thank you for the FAL Reunion invitation.   I am not sure I will be able to attend.   
However, I would like to share some 'history' with you as I remember it to be.
My name is Faye (Shields) Duff.  
In September, 1946, I was hired by Monarch Airlines as Secretary to the Sup't of Mtnc, Jack Burnell.   
I worked with Harry Russell, assistant to Jack, and remember, fondly, knowing Harry Summerton, 
Conrad Greenemier, Tunie Bergen, 'Pop' Burnell, Jerry Kimmel, Carl Willman, Jack Mericle, 
Charles and Dorothy Meisenbach, Florence and Walter Dyess, Swede, Bill Hayes, 
so many more good, great people... all pioneers.

He is not on the Feb 1960 Frontier Roster.
I'll guess he left about 1958 until more info is received.
