JL OLSEN 1959 - 1986 STATION AGENT SAF PHX WYS BOI HUSBAND OF TICKET COUNTER AGENT BEV MYRICK OLSEN I heard from Bev & J.L. Olsen of Boise, ID. -Ginger Ann Treptow (5/3/05) I talked to Bev Olson, she and her husband JL Olson transferred from PHX to BOI when it opened in 1979. She thinks they used to receive the FL news on the web but don't anymore. Can you hook them back up? -Jim Lane (7/6/07) The FL NEWS newsletter has always been sent via USPS. My records show I sent Bev a complimentary copy 2/4/2003 but she never subscribed. Maybe Bev and JL were getting news from the online FL Club. I'll send them an invite to the Club so they can get plugged back in to things FL. The newsletter is still being sent out and is up to 28 pages. It's still $10 per year. -Jake Lamkins (7/6/07) This is an automated email message to let you know that the Olsens joined your FL Club. -Yahoo.com Groups (8/11/07) I got a call yesterday advising me of the passing of J.L. Olsen in BOI. J.L. was a long time employee of Frontier. I know he worked in PHX, WYS and was one of the opening Agents when we opened BOI in June of 1979, and worked there until the end. I feel blessed to have known him both as an Employee and a good friend. J.L. was always one you could depend upon to get the job done. I have many happy memories of doing things with him, both at work and away from work. I’ve talked to his wife Bev, (also a long time Frontier employee) and I know she will be getting in touch with more information. The original BOI gang that opened the station is getting smaller, having already lost Duane Sharp, Ron Slater, Dave Weston, Bob Smith and Moe Osborne. Time has not been kind to us. I can only say that now J.L. has gone to a better place. -Roger Sorensen (11/21/08) J L OLSEN Station agent seniority date of 2/21/59, emp# 06506, on the 1/1/86 FL/ALEA seniority list. LEWIS OLSEN SAF station agent on the 8/15/63 thru 3/15/64 Sales & Service Personnel Rosters. PHX station agent on the 4/15/66 Sales & Service Personnel Roster - SAF closed. -Jake Lamkins (11/23/08) I was saddened to hear of the passing of J L. We will miss him and his death leaves a huge hole in the FL Family. He is at peace and I send my deepest sympathy to Beverly and his family. God has a new angel in his Kingdom. -Ginger Treptow (12/2/08) J L was one of my favorite people to visit with the many times I was at the airport with my dad, Chuck Southerland, in Safford and Phoenix. We were very sad to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the days ahead. -Debbie Fischer (Southerland) (Glendale, AZ) (12/7/08) I was very sad to here of JL's passing. I can only remember the good times we had in both SAD and PHX. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Please let me know when services are in SAD and god willing I will be there -Chuck Southerland (Glendale, AZ) (12/9/08) My wife (LaRee) and I were sad to hear of the passing of JL. We both grew up with him and Jennie Lou in Safford. Our best to you & his family.
