GORDON LINKON 1965 - 1980 DIRECTOR-INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, VP-PERSONNEL & INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, VP-ADMINISTRATION, VP-MARKETING DEN I left Midway in 1983 with Gordon Linkon and Bob Coombs former FL employees to start a new airline in Orlando, Florida Express where I was President until we sold to Braniff in 1988. -Ken Gann (4/12/11) Gordon Linkon I had an inquiry from Bob Schulman about Gordon Linkon, F9s former exec.- Legal attorney I believe. Do you know or have you heard of his whereabouts etc? -Lynda Lane (5/9/11) Hi Ken, I have an inquiry about Gordon Linkon from Bob Schulman. Do you know Gordon's whereabouts; possibly an address, phone or email. -Jake Lamkins (5/9/11) The Jan 1968 Frontiersman says Gordon came to FL in 1965 as director-industrial relations and personnel. -Jake Lamkins (1/31/13) My 2cents is: RKO General loved Al Feldman as he was one of the main persons that put the Titan on the moon in the mid sixties for them. Al was sent to Fl in March 1971 by RKO to either liquidate or fix it, and fix he did. When Al left FL for CO in 1980 RKO must of had little faith in Glen Ryland. Al was 6'4. Hank was 6'4 and I was 6'4 and that was to tall for Glenn so Hank and I talked about being doomed. Gordon Linkon left FL in May 1980 for Midway Airlines and I joined him in Aug 1980. Gordon's leadership in Marketing and Planning left a big hole that was never filled. Despite the scheduling department, I did, with Al and Hanks approval, the majority of scheduling for the company [Gann Plans] as the Eastern Division had the revenue generating stations and after deregulation had the most opportunity to open larger stations with revenue generation. Al wanted to get rid of as many 580;s that he could and the East had plenty of them. For each 580 that I could get out of the system I would get $500,000.00 in credit with the schedule package for bringing a 737 in to replace the 580. Hank did is best to keep the Al Feldman sprit going but the cards were stacked against him. So in my opinion Glen Ryland and his political cronies were partly responsible for the demise of Frontier Airlines. After all he was the President. -Ken Gann (4/12/13) Gordon Linkon I thought he has passed away along time ago, but found the obit in the Denver Post this morning… -Carolyn Boller (2/5/17) FLacebook - FL Club FLights West reported today George Ceshker, GSW DAL DFW pilot, Jan 22, 2017, age 101 Gordon Linkon, DEN vp-marketing, Jan 29, 2017, age 87 -Jake Lamkins (2/5/17) There are numerous weblinks at Google for his airline work: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22gordon+linkon%22+airlines&newwindow=1&biw= 1715&bih=958&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjm9YjekJXSAhVCRSYKHYhaBpgQ_AUIBygA&dpr=1 He is mentioned in Jim Dixson's lawsuit against Newsweek.: https://www.ravellaw.com/opinions/b9eaf16df37daeb465daa6975fa9a9ae He held several titles of the years - his last in the 1979 Annual report was vp-marketing. -Jake Lamkins (2/16/17) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: Gordon Linkon DEN vp-marketing Gordon Linkon's memorial webpage is posted at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Gordon_Linkon.html He started with FL as director-industrial relations in Mar 1965 and left in May 1980 to take over Midway Airlines. -Jake Lamkins (2/18/17) Saw in today's Denver post that Helene Linkon passed away. -Jeanne Hanson (2/20/17) Wow!
