I hope you enjoy retired life as much as I do. I've been drawing my FL pension for 10 years - who would have thought there was anything left. We're a lot luckier than some of these poor airline folks. Take care and remember: GOODBYE TENSION, HELLO PENSION!! -Jake Lamkins (8/16/07) Hey Glen, Hope you're enjoying retirement as much as me. Didn't you start with FL in 1967 and were always in STL? -Jake Lamkins (7/21/08) Yes did start in 67. In STL the whole time. Enjoy your summer. -Glen Davis (7/21/08) G DAVIS Station agent seniority date of 7/17/67, emp# 01755, on the 1/1/86 FL/ALEA seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (7/21/08) The Cargo Appreciation plaque was awarded to the STL station agents working air freight in early 1970. The individuals did not get a plaque - just one was displayed at the STLFF office. It was a very hectic time - we were bursting at the seams with air freight. While making a STL station visit in 1982 when I was ALEA Master Chairman, I found the plaque in the trashcan at the freight office. No one wanted it so I rescued it and still have it. -Jake Lamkins (10/31/09) Just wanted to let you know my husband Glen Davis died on 11/11/11. He worked in STL for over 20 years. Was a station agent. Worked air freight and and the ramp. He really loved his work and the people he worked with. -Kathy Davis (11/20/11) Dear Kathy, My heart goes out to you. I worked with Glen in St Louis 1968-70 and remember him very well as a conscientous and reliable co-worker. My sincerest condolences. I will put out the word for Glen's other Frontier friends and co-workers. With sympathy. -Jake Lamkins (11/20/11) The last time I talked with Glen was at our last STL picnic. He told me that he still had his FL ramp jacket and he wore it to his current employment. Somebody asked him what the stripes (night reflective tape) was on the arms of the jacket? Glen told them that those designated his ramp rank. He was a lieutenant of the ramp. -Wiley Allen (11/21/11) I, too, worked with Glen in STL from merger until I left in late '70. Great coworker & employee. -Jim Mustain (11/21/11) Really sorry to hear that. Thoughts and prayers going out to Kathy and family. I always liked working with Glen, especially the freight house. I think it was his favorite place to work at STL station. He had a noticeably deep bass voice, but when the phone rang, he would lower it a couple octaves, just like Barry White; "Air freight, Davis". He admitted more than once that he did it to try to intimidate people. He was a real capable and knowledgeable agent and always a pleasure to work with. RIP Glen. -Chuck Tisckos (11/23/11) Posted at FLacebook and FL Club: STL station agent Glen Davis' memorial webpage is posted at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Glen_Davis.html Post your remembrances. -Jake Lamkins (12/1/11) Thank you so much. -Kathy Davis (12/2/11) It was a pleasure working with Glen in STL, our paths met between the ramp and gate. He always had a smile and a kind word. Bless you Glen. -Ruth Beck (12/7/11)
