GEORGE W. SNYDER, JR. George Willard Snyder, Jr., 65, died at a Salt Lake Hospital May 11, 1983 of cancer, after a brief illness. Born August 31, 1917 to George Willard and Dorothy Gilmer Snyder in Salt Lake City. Married Violet (Vonna) Bordonaro December 9, 1942. Graduate, East High and U. of U. Mr. Snyder's early interests in aviation led him to become a service pilot, bomber pilot instructor and experimental test pilot in the U.S. Air Force in World War II. He then organized and became President of Challenger Airlines, which subsequently became part of Frontier Airlines. Additional interests were in mining. More recently he has operated and served as President of Communication International Ltd. (Telemail), an international courier service. Survivors: Wife, mother, Salt Lake City; daughters, Mrs. Vonna Breeze, Santa Barbara, California, Mrs. John (Rita) Lund, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Mark (Janice) Fairbanks, Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren. Brief funeral services will be held at Eastman's Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 E. 1st South, Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment following at Mt. Olivet. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Arthritis Foundation, Holy Cross Hospice Center or Chapel.
