FRANK FOUNTAIN 1953 - 19?? STATION AGENT, STATION MANAGER ADH CHK LAW FTW HYS OBITUARY Services for Frank Dwain Fountain, 74, Ada, are 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Dr. Pat Kilby and the Rev. John Haynes officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home. Mr. Fountain died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at his home. He was born July 10, 1934, in Stratford to Hubert Franklin Fountain and Vera Lee Hooper Fountain. He graduated from Horace Mann High School. He worked for Central Airlines at Ardmore, Chickasha, Lawton, Fort Worth, Texas, and Hays, Kan. While serving as manager of Central Airlines terminal at Ada Airport from 1955-1957, he gave a daily early morning weather report over KADA radio from the airport. During this time he organized trips for elementary school children to fly to Ardmore, spend the night and return the next day. This boosted the daily passenger totals for Ada, and also provided first-time flying experience for most of the children. He was also employed with the Ada Fire Department, OTASCO, T G & Y, Green’s Glass, Treat Janitorial, and retired from the Ada Post Office in 1996. He was an outstanding high school baseball player and played on several men’s baseball teams as a young man. He coached several Little League baseball teams and the First Baptist Church women’s softball team. He was a state champion bowler and local league bowler for many years. He served as president of the Optimist Club of Ada and the Diamond “K” Kiwanis Club; and as an assistant scoutmaster of Troop 4. He was a long-time member of the Credit Committee of the Ada Federal Employees Credit Union, a member of the American Legion, and was a member and usher at First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Chursey M. Lamb on June 9, 1956, in Ada. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Chursey Lamb Fountain, of the home; two sons, Patrick Fountain and Wife Usha, Ada; and Martin Fountain, Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Karen Hudson and husband John, Ada; granddaughters, Kacy and Kelli Clark, and grandson, Nathan Fountain, all of Ada; sister, Willena Kay Wiley and husband Ed, Davis; sister-in-law, Carol Hyde, Ada; brother-in-law, James Lamb, Winnsboro, Texas; nieces, Donna Burns, Ada; Denise Bishop, McAlester; Linda Lamb, Winnsboro, Texas; and Lisa Torres, Temple, Texas; nephews, Keith Hyde, Ada; Paul Motes Jr., McAlester; Lewis Lamb, Dallas, Texas; and Dennis Lamb, Dallas, Texas; special cousins, Jean and Richard Mendoza, Scurry, Texas; and Sue and Jerry Wright, Blanchard. Bearers are Tommy Beddow, Bill Guinn, Dan Northcutt, Charles Pate, Joe Priest and Tommy Welcher. Honorary bearers are members of the Kingdom Seekers Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, the Diamond “K” Kiwanis Club, and fellow golfers at Sulphur Hills Golf Course.
