FLOYD LAFFERTY 1967 - 1986 STATION AGENT, TICKET COUNTER AGENT, SENIOR TICKET COUNTER AGENT ELP OMA DEN I was reading the list of Station Agents who have pass away today. I did not see the name of Tommy Smith, who worked the El Paso Station for many years. I believe he died a couple of years back of cancer. I really don't know if his name was Thomas or Tommy (which is what everyone called him). I'm sure he worked the El Paso Station right up to closing. I'm sure they continued to live in El Paso after that, but I lost contact with most of the guys down there when I was transfered to Omaha. -Floyd Lafferty, Sr Tkt Ctr Agent, Denver (6/24/00) Floyd Lafferty, TCA, DEN OMA, Was in OMA, I think, pal of Bill Sullivan's. I got a call this last week from William Sullivan who left a message on my voice mail that Floyd Lafferty had passed away on September 18, 2002. He did not leave any details or a return telephone number. Just wanted to pass this on. -Carolyn Boller (2/19/03) To Eric Mason, DENTT: Carolyn Boller sent this: "I got a call this last week from William Sullivan who left a message on my voice mail that Floyd Lafferty had passed away on September 18, 2002. He did not leave any details or a return telephone number. Just wanted to pass this on." Have you heard anything about this? Any details? Obituary? -Jake Lamkins (2/19/03) Did Bill happen to leave a phone number? I have looked but not sure I have the right person.. and I know that Floyd had children. If you get info before I do send me what you can so I can send out the message to the people I have on a local list -Eric Mason (2/23/03) Thanks for the info.. I found Sully (Sullivan) and we just chatted.. Floyd died very fast .. no warning.. heart attack.. left two sons..Cannon & Shawn. Bill is going to send me the info from the funeral.. Damn.. they are leaving us to go west all too fast -Eric Mason (2/24/03) To DENTT E-Ring: Well it's once again time to share with you another loss. Floyd Lafferty.. Died from an heart attack suddenly on Sept 18, 2002, Thanks to his friend Bill Sullivan, we got this info from Jake Lamkins.. so once again it proves that somehow, someway.. the messages get to us.. Floyd was only 54. I guess what perhaps we should reflect on now is we can communicate better and perhaps take care of our friends who have illness currently and would like a little card once in a while. Currently we have several friends that are getting well and maybe a few "THINKING OF YOU " cards or letters would be be a great thing Tell me what you think and I will send out the addresses. Again. Always thinking of my old friends and wishing good things.. -Eric Mason (2/28/03) F LAFFERTY Emp# 05113 Station agent seniority date of 12/15/67 per the 1/1/74 FL/ALEA Semiority List. ------------------------------------------ F A LAFFERTY Ticket counter seniority date of 12/15/67 Emp# 05113, Org# 3301 DEN DOB 12/18/47 DOH 12/15/67 per the Oct 1986 FL/ALEA Seniority List. -Jake Lamkins (11/19/13) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: DEN ticket counter agent Floyd Lafferty's memorial webpage has been updated. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Floyd_Lafferty.html Still need a photo and obituary for Floyd. -Jake Lamkins (11/23/13) What ever became of Floyd Lafferty?
