ELDON BLAKE 1973 - 1986 STATION AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT EAR DEN This morning I spoke to Eldons wife. He is still in ICU but the news is not good. The doctors told her this is the worst tumor possible, it is very aggressive and they think it is milignate. She was told that only 2% of people that have this go about five years. Their are only a handful of trusting emp that know the true facts of the situation. Talking to Patricia, no one else can know because this information cannot get back to Eldon. They do not plan on telling him for about ten days. Can one of you plz get in touch with Latta and let him know. Once again I cannot stress enough that Eldon does not suspect anything until the family feels the time is right. -Mike Rupert (Forwarded by Frank Monheiser) (2/18/06) That's too damned bad! This getting old ain't for sissies, is it? I had just found his address last month and sent him a newsletter. Keep me updated. -Jake Lamkins (2/23/06) I just heard that John Blake died, it was back in June of this year. I don't have any details, but his wife called a friend of ours here in Grand Island. John worked in GRI until we closed and then moved to PDX. He worked in MCK before coming to GRI. He ended up in LAS with America West. I understand he died of Cancer. He had a brother Eldon Blake that worked for FAL in Denver, but I don't know where he is now. Just thought I would let you know, Maybe you can find out more info on him. -Tom Blanchard (12/27/06) OBITUARY: BLAKE, JOHN John Blake, 63, of Henderson, died June 18, 2006. His brother John also worked for FL, starting in MCK. -Geoff Morneau (9/25/07) Thanks, Geoff, I appreciate the info. Let me know if you get more such as an obit or funeral arrangements. Anyone with more info, please post it. -Jake Lamkins (9/25/07) Just heard from Geoff Morneau that Eldon Blake died yesterday. No other details other than Geoff heard it from Eldon's wife, Patricia. Thought you might like to know. -Jerry Piller (9/26/07) I talked to Patricia last night. There's going to be a graveside service for Eldon on Sat, 29 Sep 2007 @ 1300 local in Bartley NE - close to MCK. There'll be a reception afterwards at the American Legion in Bartley. Eldon always came out to CO to go hunting every fall with Gerry Baker - who I know, also SSA in DEN - and Bob Lewis - I'm not sure if I know him. Patricia said Bob and some friends were going to drive out from DEN to the service so I'm not sure in any of them are FL but Gerry was having a hip replaced and wouldn't be able to go. -Geoff Morneau (9/26/07) Just recently I learned that Eldon Blake had passed away. I think he was 57 years old. That's terribly young. I really liked Eldon, and tried to always get on his crew. I really miss him. He was a friend. -Ted Gregg (9/8/08) My name is Kati Todd (Blake) and I am Eldon Blake's daughter. I just came across the Memorial site you set up for my dad. I had never seen is before, and think it is wonderful! Makes me think about what a wonderful person he was. I wanted to ask how you knew him and anything else you would like to share. Also, I started a walk/run in memory of him. Last year was the first year, and there will be one this year as well. All proceeds benefit the American Brain Tumor Association. The link is http://hope.abta.org/site/TR?fr_id=1800&pg=entry Right now there is nothing there, but as it gets closer there will be more information. I don't know if you know people who would be interested in this event. I would like to thank you for the memorial. It's nice to read all the comments, and see what people had to say about him. Thanks again, -Kati Todd (1/25/11) Great hearing from you, Kati, and I'm glad you like your dad's webpage. Email me anything you would like to add. I think a better photo would help, if you have one. I worked with Eldon in Denver for two years just before Frontier closed down. He was a terrific guy and always upbeat even though things were going downhill with Frontier. I liked him very much as did everyone. -Jake Lamkins (1/25/11) I was very sad to see that Eldon Blake had passed. I have used his supervisory attitudes over the years and it's really helped me. I wish I knew as much about finance and strategic planning then as I know now because I think I could have helped save the ship. I guess we all wish we knew more in the past of what we now know though. -Bill Hoermle (5/29/13) E R BLAKE Emp# 11451 Station agent seniority date and DOH 4/10/73 DOB 1/12/50 per the Oct 1986 FL/ALEA Seniority List. -Jake Lamkins (8/1/15) DEN station agent Eldon Blake's memorial webpage has been updated: http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Eldon_Blake.html Added several pix and a weblink to his brother John. -Jake Lamkins (8/2/15) Really a nice guy -Trish Swanson Hawk (8/2/15) Remember working with Eldon in Denver back in the 80s. A really nice guy to work with. Didnt know he has passed until I saw this tonight. Nothing but good memories. -Michael Reid (8/2/15) I never realized before that Eldon and John were brothers. I worked in customer service in Denver and had fun times with Eldon around. I also worked in PDX with John. He was a great guy to work with. He was my hero the day my father passed away because he met me on the ramp from a flight from Bend and took me to a Continental flight which was being held for me. I had already been transferred out of PDX to SLC and I never saw him again. How sad they are both gone. -Jean McDonald (8/3/15) I remember working with Eldon too in Denver. Great memories - he helped make even the craziest shifts more tolerable, even fun sometimes. -Michael Karl (8/3/15) One of my best buddies. Grew up in the same small town in Nebraska. Both of us worked for FL. He was one of the best. -Jim Whipple (8/3/15) Was going through old pictures and found this one of Eldon Blake. Went to Lexington KY one day to watch the Cincinnati Reds play. Who was the really talk Senior agent who dated Terry from the counter?? Anyone remember?? He came with us. What a blast! God bless his soul as he rests in peace! As some of you know I was in a relationship with Eldon for about a year-and-a-half and he and I loved each other. He was so God damn funny and extremely intelligent. He had me laughing as he did with most of the agents all the time. When he was the Senior agent on the flight, we laughed so much we forgot that we were working. He was an excellent father to Jeremy, his son . does anyone know where Jeremy is? -Brenda Booker Perkins (11/8/16) Always liked Eldon, fun to be around. -Trish Swanson-Hawk (11/8/16) Eldon and I grew up in the same town. He got me a job with Frontier. Was a great buddy and friend. Jeremy Blake drives a truck and is married. See Eldon's older sister Charlene once in a while. She lives in Bartley Nebraska which we are both from. Eldon's brother Johnny also worked for Frontier in GRI and LAS. -Jim Whipple (11/9/16)
