DOYLE JOHNSON 1954 - 1986 STATION AGENT, STATION MANAGER DEN GJT LNK MOK CNY FLG DEN STL OKC Just stumbled across your Frontier Memorial. My father, Doyle Johnson passed away in December, 1996 in his home town of Rexburg, Idaho. Dad started with Frontier as a station agent in Denver in 1955. He married my mom Linda and moved to Grand Junction where I was born in 1956. We then moved to Lincoln and then to Moab, where Dad took his first station manager's job. My sister Janice was born there and after about seven years we moved to Flagstaff. In 1967, we moved to St. Louis where Dad open up the station to jet service. As a nine year old, I still remember 'Jets' being a big deal. The next year we moved to Oklahoma City. Mom said it would be her last move. They divorced in 1974. The next year, I hired on in OKC with TWA loading bags. I really enjoyed Dad being a 'big dog' City Manager, and at the time, hoped to follow in his footsteps with TWA. About 1983, Dad's health and Frontier's began spiraling down the tubes. After recovering from alcoholism, Dad spent a couple of years in Sacramento, then moved to West Yellowstone where he retired about the same time Frontier expired. During retirement he owned and ran a one man travel agency in Rexburg. Working for Frontier gave Dad a life full of opportunity, adventure and fulfillment. For that, I am grateful. Thanks, -Mark Johnson (2/6/00) We have lost 2 of the older CN employees several years back; Hub Barker and Linzy Pendergraft, and of course our Manager Doyle Johnson. -Dick Withrow (9/29/02) D. D.
