I just stumbled on this web site... My name if Dick Withrow.
I was employed by FL on Mar 14, 1959 and was there on that last final day.
I am in OKC now and working for Southwest Airlines.
There are still several old FL people in OKC and we just got together 
today for a fishfry given by one of the old CN mech.. Kirby Rankin.
I really enjoy reading the info listed on the website.

I remember Kirby very well.
I was a station agent in FYV for 18 years or so.
Kirby loved my homemade wine.
I was based in DEN at the end.
Who all are you in contact with there of the OKC gang?
I worked in LAW for awhile back in '70 and served with Marty Gulikers in ALEA work.

At the fish fry yesterday Were Sam Warner
Kirby, Don Keener, Dewaye Combs, Jim Hildebrand,  Tom Dewoody....
Jake, I hired on with FL in CPR in 1959 and transfered to TUS in 1960,  
then transered to LAW at the merger of FL/CN in Dec 1967,
and transfered to OKC in 1969 and was there to the end .
Marti is still in OKC and is working for NW
Don Workenten is also working for NW in OKC..  John (Jess) James is 
still around OKC but never see him.   I don't have addresses on any of them 
now but will try and get something...  In the FSM/FYV pictures is the 
Charley Jones shown the one that worked in OKC of a while??
We have lost 2 of the older CN employees
several years back ..  Hub Barker and Linzy Pendergraft, and of course 
our Manager Doyle Johnson...

Do you have additional info on the deaths of Barker and Pendergraft such as date of death, obituary, etc.
I can post the info on our website and in the newsletter.
I already have some info on Doyle from his son.

Enclosed is Dick Withrow's obituary.
He was diagnosed with lung cancer in late September '04 and passed away less than 5 months later.
The obit has one error in the number of years he and Rita were married.
It should say 45 years.
He will be greatly missed.

It's sad to see how many employees are not with us anymore.  
Dick Withrow (one of the latest) lived with me while he was in CPR and I visited him in TUS.
