DICK MEDINGER 1968 - 1986 STATION AGENT DEN RAP GRI LNK SEA FLacebook After Frontier Airlines was gone, I went to work for The Boeing Company. I had a wonderful chance in my lifetime to work for two of the greatest companies in our free world. Life is good. -Dick Medinger (4/29/10) FLacebook on FL's 24th shutdown anniversary: I was in SEA and got a call at 2:00 AM and was told not to come for my AM ticket counter shift. Went to school for a year and went to work for The Boeing Company. It was hard to walk away from FAL. It wasn't easy, but I made it." -Dick Medinger (8/24/10) Re: [Old Frontier Airlines] Amazing what could be done with the old teletype... Oh yeah, The Old Teletype Machine. When I was a new lad to FAL, I was working in ops in DEN. I was a bit slow on the machine and so the boys there thought it funny to tease me about that. They would make a continous tape with all the bells on it, thus my last name was "Dinger". And the tape would go Ding Ding Ding. Of course I would race over to my machine to see want was going on to find nothing but foolishness. I was setting at the machine typing one day and our lead Larry Middleton thought it humerous to set a fire bottle right behind me. Would have worked well, but I heard it go ding when he set it down. I having been pushed far enough, grabbed the bottle, pulled the pin and shoved the horn up Middleton's butt, pulled the handle and chased him out on the ramp. Boys in W&B got a big kick out of it, Larry got a white seat of the pants, and I never got bothered again and my typing speed increased. The good old days of FAL. If anyone cares to hear, I can fill you in on Harry Samuelson and his fart simulater. :o) -Dick Medinger (9/19/11) R MEDINGER Station agent seniority date of 2/05/68, emp# 05652 per the 1/1/86 FL/ALEA Seniority List -Jake Lamkins (9/19/11) Hi Jake, We ( The Frontier Family) Thank you for all the work you do to keep us informed and the knowlegde you share with us. I can see your load is a heavy load. Thanks for sharing with us. We are here to serve each other, you are a shining example of that. -Dick Medinger (1/30/13) You're welcome. The flip-side of the down-side of the FLights West is when, like today, a widow phones me to thank me for helping her cope with her grief by visiting her husband's memorial webpage and reading about him in the FL newsletter. Stuff like that and a lot of other things make it all worthwhile. Besides, I can't play golf:) -Jake Lamkins (1/30/13) It is with sadness that I advise you that former FL agent Fred Aerni passed away on July 7, 2014 at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln NE. I had last seen Fred at our 60th High School reunion in Columbus, NE in April. At one time, there were 5 of us from OLU working at FL in Denver: Fred, Chuck Janssen (deceased), Dick Medinger, John Moss and me. Growing up together in OLU I had know Fred forever. His wife Linda was a former FL Flight Attendant. -Fred Krebs (7/8/14) I worked with Fred in DEN. He was from my home town, OLU. -Dick Medinger (7/17/14) I turn 72 today. I have had one good life. I figure on going on with my life and enjoy it some more. I have had four wives in my life. They were all good in their own way, even thought three of them and I are no longer. I have been blessed with lots of children, both natural and married into. I have not always agreed with them and them with me. But we all came away learning something, I hope to all of our benefit. I do wish them all well, both wives and kids. My love in my life is my wife, my kids, My Savior, my Freedom and my guns. I have served my country proudly in the U.S. Navy and would do it again so all of you could continue to enjoy your freedom as I have. I am thankful for the fifteen beautiful grandchildren I enjoy. Thank You Heavenly Father for the wonderful blessings I have. Now I am going to party with my friends and have a wonderful meal together.
