DIANE HALL 1966 - 1986 FLIGHT ATTENDANT DEN With deep regret, the Gone West of Flight Attendant Diane Hall. Services and details not available at this time and will be pending. Regretfully, -Ace Avakian (3/9/06) D Hall Seniority date of 9/16/66 on the 2/1/86 FL/AFA seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (3/9/06) I am so sorry to hear of Diane's passing. I last saw her when I sat with her at Jim McGhee's funeral. She was her same ole wise-cracking self.... she looked and sounded just fine health-wise. I know she was upset about Jim's passing...but that was to be expected. Other than that, she was her same ole crazy self. We talked about her hand/arm and her irritation with the workman's comp/insurance hassles. (She had fallen in Amsterdam and messed up her hand/arm. She told me she had lost a lot of strength in her hand/arm and couldn't lift anything more than a coke can... which, of course, kept her from coming back to flying at CAL. I have passed the word onto her friends at CAL and have had many inquiries as to when her services might be. Would you please let me know so that I may pass the word onto her many CAL F/A friends? Here is a pic of Diane.... -Nina Abbott (3/10/06) There will be a Memorial Service for Diane Hall on Tuesday, March 14 at 1200 Noon at Horan & Conaty Funeral Home located at 3201 S. Parker Road Aurora CO 80014 303-745-4418 -Ace Avakian (3/10/06) Diane M. Hall Memorial service, Tuesday 12:00 p.m., Horan & McConaty Mortuary, 3201 S. Parker Rd. Published in the Denver Newspaper Agency on 3/12/2006. -Jake Lamkins (3/11/06) Nina Abbott sent a nice photo of Diane that I've posted at the Club homepage and used for her memorial webpage. Come September, Diane would have been a flight attendant for 40 years! -Jake Lamkins (3/12/06) Usually, on Thursdays, we have a luncheon with a small group of which Diane was one. She wasn't 'there' Thursday so a few went to her place to see what was the matter. Long story short...her sister (from Chicago) calls Diane every day and couldn't get hold of her for a few of days - worried - called the police to investigate with permission to break in. She was found dead. Cause is pending. A great loss!! -Ace Avakian (3/12/06) We've known Diane for almost 40 years (when we all were very young!!) Diane and Joanne were in the same "Stew" class in 1966 and Bob was a new pilot then. We had great times flying around this country together and, after that, sharing laughs and stories at the Denver reunions. Her early departure will leave a big hole in the Frontier family that's still here but those who have gone before are really celebrating - they're parties have just done a barrel roll. We're sending along pictures we have from the 2000 & 2003 Denver Reunion Picnic & party, one that epitomizes Diane - a smile and a frontier airplane!! (Posted at FL Club) So long old friend, we'll miss you. Bob Reisig and Joanne Griffin (DEN) (3/15/06) It seems as if the past has been flooding over me since I had heard of Diane's death. FAL F/A 1967-1986 -Kathy Norris (3/15/06) I was very shocked to hear of Diane's passing. She was such an neat and very caring person. I didn't know that she was even ill. Do you what she died of???? -Charlie Clark (3/17/06) I don't think anybody knows for sure yet. I got this from Ace Avakian: "Usually, on Thursdays, we have a luncheon with a small group of which Diane was one. She wasn't 'there' Thursday (3/9) so a few went to her place to see what was the matter. Long story short...her sister (from Chicago) calls Diane every day and couldn't get hold of her for a few of days - worried - called the police to investigate with permission to break in. She was found dead. Cause is pending. A great loss!!" There has been an outpouring of messages about her death. The online guestbook is up to 8 pages. That's the most I've seen. She was one of a kind. -Jake Lamkins (3/17/06) Please be advised, the annual Party at Diane's' will take place as scheduled for Friday, June 23rd at the usual 'Little Turtle Club House", at 1800 MDT - which is the night before the Annual Frontier Airlines Reunion. This the same place we've always held it, Details, etc., will be forthcoming but this is to let you know, the party will go on as scheduled, in memory of Diane Hall. For your information and guidance. -Ace Avakian (3/22/06) To the many, many friends of Diane Hall I would like to personally thank each and everyone of you for all the cards, E-mails and special stories that you have shared with me. I loved sharing the memories with everyone and I enjoyed every story. Diane touched us all in her own way. What fun she was. I know that I enjoyed every (maybe every other) minute I spent with her and it sounds like you all did too. She sure knew how to live life to the fullest. I know that I'll try to follow in her footsteps. She not only was my sister, she was my best friend.I could tell her anything and she would always listen and be there for me. You always knew where you stood with her. I ALWAYS knew that she loved me. I still get scared when I look into the mirror - I see Diane. I think this is a good thing. HOPEFULLY she will continue to live through me. I hope to do her proud. Once again, thanks for the memories. May she live in our hearts forever. -Margaret Hall (Martinez, CA) (4/7/06) 1966 new hire class photo of Diane. -Billy Walker (11/15/07) In 1966, I was a small, shy 10-yr old girl with newly divorced parents. My dad, George Veldboon, was a Captain for Frontier Airlines and had recently relocated to an apartment complex in Aurora, off Colfax and Moline. I guess as part of the custody agreement, my dad would entertain the five of us kids a few days each year. His initial choice of entertainment was to take us to swim at his apartment pool, which was a real thrill for us kids. On my first visit to the swimming pool, he introduced me to a stewardess who lived in the same complex. Her name was Diane. Diane Hall. I was attached to her from the get-go. I thought she was beautiful, smart and everything I dreamed to be as I got older. I never forgot the initial and lasting impact she had on me as a youngster trying to figure out "What I wanted to be when I grew up." I even took French lessons in junior high school in case it would benefit me in hiring on with PanAm. She became the true and lasting influence and inspiration that lead me to where I am now. After I was finally hired, I was indeed fortunate to have worked with Diane on a few flights at Frontier. What a joy! And she was right by my side to the end when I struggled with my dad's illness and death in 1980. She remained a true friend and mentor until the end of her life. She is still greatly loved, missed and honored every St. Patrick's Day when I raise a toast to Diane. I hope I have made her proud. -Vicky Veldboon (married name Holstein on seniority list, emp# 17167) Frontier Flight Attendant 1981-1986 (12/6/11) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: DEN flight attendan Diane Hall's memorial webpage has been updated. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Diane_Hall.html Eight items added and moved to an ad-free location.
