I ran into Clair when I was flying for Emery Worldwide in 89-90. He was working in maintenance at the Dayton “Sort” hub for Emery. 
His address then was in Vandalia, OH 45377. 
I  haven’t seen or heard from him since I left Emery and went to Southwest in ‘91.

Darwin Haudrich asked about him at the FYV-FSM Reunion.
I told him I would check.
He started in Apr 1955 per the Apr 1965 article for 10 year pin.
I found his obituary when I did a web search.

Likely, Phil & Ron have better "Bear" stories!  
I never acquainted his nickname "Bear" with his last name Bearer.  
I recall he was also called "Tiny."  He was a big fellow.  I think he was well over 300 #.  
He thought he was too big to worry about a little jet blast.  
One day in MCI, he was behind a 737 when it turned out.  Man-O-Man!  
He really respected jetblast after that one.   
I don't think he broke anything, but he was pretty well bruised after that trip across the ramp!  
As I recall he went about the length of a 737 rear-end over teacup!    
Lotsa interesting stories came outta that base (BOTH MCI and, of course, MKC) 
Since Phil and Ron are still alive, I will save some of the really juicy stories for their memorial.
