We have an obituary page on the FL site and I would like to make a webpage for Chuck. If you have a photo we could post it on his page. We could add any other info you want to share such as his obituary, comments, etc. Hope to hear from you. Take care. -Jake Lamkins (12/26/00) Sorry this took so long - I was procrastinating - HA! Please send picture back if possible. Chuck's airline career began with FAL in LNK Sept. 20, 1958 (the same day his son was born). In 1959 he moved to PHX for two years and then was able to transfer to DEN where he remained. Primarily he worked as a station agent (gates) although he even spent a short time as a payloader (weights and balances). In 1967 under the able direction of Flight Operations Vice President (deceased) M.E. "Ed" Oneil, John Myers, and later Ken Smith (deceased), FAL pursued the charter market and created a charter dept, which along with their beloved secretary, Hazel Pender, had one employee - Chuck - who worked as charter coordinator. He was soon joined by Birdella Stout, Carolyn Sandoval, and P.A.s (President's Assistants) Jack Bass (DEN), David Carl (HOU) and Vince Davis (SEA). FAL at one time became the official charter carrier of the Denver Broncos, as well as many domestic and military accounts. A.C. (after charter) -1972- Chuck bid back into the DEN station as a senior agent, but ultimately went back to what he enjoyed most - station agent, working payload. When FAL closed its doors Chuck transferred to CAL as a load planner until Sept. 18, 1990, when he was felled by a heart attack in SFO while on vacation. Ironically, on Sept. 20, 1990, his son & I brought him, finally, home from SFO, exactly 32 years to the day that he began his career! For Chuck as well as for the majority of us, FAL was not just a job or a career, but a way of life - a real commitmentto the airline we built and loved, as well as to each other. His sense of responsiblilty to that commitment is his legacy - in every facet of his job as well as his quick wit, sense of humor and ready smile, which "early on" trademarked him with the nickname "Chuckles" to his friends, peers, flight crews and management. -Lynne Dessauer DENRK 1965-86 (Mrs Chas. in 1968) (6/12/01) Was hoping you would send out a broadcast to all the FAL Folk. Lynne Dessauer (wife of Chuck Dessauer) passed away Wednesday Morning. Lynne worked in Frontier Airlines Reservations for about 23 years. Funeral to be on Friday @ 6:30 PM at the Prebyterian Church @ 56th & Independence in Arvada, CO We will all meet at Lynne's house (8652 Garland Ct) after the ceremony to eat.
