C. R. "Chet" Lubben  6-18-08 to 6-17-04
     Chet was early MAL, either '46 or '47. Spent most of career in DEN city sales. 
Had the Schedule dept late 50's-early 60's (I took over Schedules from him in '62).
Believe he left the company in late 60's.
     Altho he was a good friend (and the most loyal employee I ever met) and we made several extended
innerline sales trips together, I cant offer any further info about dates of service. 
Nor can I think of anyone who can fill us in. Would like the details if you get any.
     He lived in TUS and I had been corresponding with him over the years and visited in '91. 
My last letter from him was just 2 weeks before he died. 
He was truly one of the nicest gentlemen you would ever meet.

Chet hired on with Monarch Airlines November 10, 1947.
Director of Sales Administration, August 1956.
Supervisor of Convention and group Sales, April 1966.
Manager of Marketing Services, Feb. 1968.
Manager of Sales Standards, 1969.

The last record of Chet was in the 1969 Company Phone Book, where he 
was listed as Manager of Sales Standards.
He is not listed in the 1970 Company Phone Book.

It appears Chet retired about 1970 when he was 62 years old.

Chet Lubben was a treasure. He would tell us about blitzing the little 
towns in the old days like Monte Vista, Valentine Neb and many others where 
he and the other reps would promote 2 or 3 stop service and all they had to 
hand out was a timetable. Chet had Frontier written all over him we all 
cried when Larry Sills accepted his retirement due to a severe cut back due 
to our losing so much money.
