STATION MANAGER, STATION MANAGER GUC GJT PUB ABQ OMA It has been several years ago when I saw Charlie and he was a starter at the Park Hill golf course in Denver. They are both retired and doing well. We see them once in a while for dinner. -Jeanne Hanson (5/1/05) I knew Charlie Carper from Denver, don't know exactly what position he had there. I knew him more on a social basis than business. -Sarah Pensabene (5/1/05) I knew Charley Carper very well. In fact, he is included in a group photo I took of a DC-3 at the ABQ station while they were still in service. -Mac McElhaney (5/2/05) C E CARPER DEN relief agent DOB 8/4/30 DOH 5/26/56 per the Feb 1960 FL Roster. He also was the Manager in Omaha and Albuquerque. Arrangements have not been made as yet. -Jeanne Hanson (9/7/13) Charlie hired me in 1968. He was a true gentleman and, yes, a very fun loving man. RIP Charlie. -Larry Stivers (9/7/13) Cliff's best friend for yrs and yrs. Drove his big Cadillac convertible, tormented me when I was pregnant, wrestled me in a lawn chair and broke it. Oh Charlie, how you will be missed. RIP - you will be missed. -Barb Brown (9/7/13) Saw your notice about Charlie. He sure was something! ...and loads of fun at ABQ when we had RONs there. Appleby recalled one night when all were properly "oiled-up" that he took out his 357 Mag. and shot his waste basket! Big noise - big hole in the waste basket! I don't recall seeing Charlie when he wasn't smilin'! -Billy Walker (9/7/13) Hello Friends and Family We will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Charlie on September 12, at 10:00am at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 2250 S Harrison Street, Denver, Colorado 80210, (Corner of Colorado Blvd and Warren Street) Love you all and we'll be thinking about you and hoping to see some of you. -Sandy Carper (9/7/13) CHARLES CARPER OMA station manager per the Jan & Jul 1970 FL Telephone Directories. HE WAS A GOOD FRIEND FROM THE GOOD OLD DAYS. ATTENDED A FEW PARTIES AT HIS PLACE IN DENVER AND HE ATTENDED MY WEDDING IN APRIL OF 1961. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIM AND HIS FAMILY. -HERB SCHMIDT (9/18/13) I worked with Charlie Carper at BFF when he was a relief agent. DO NOT TRY TO OUTDRINK CHARLIE. That was the word throughout FAL and it was definitely true. He loved to party and he did it very well. One of the best dancers I've ever seen. I never did dance with him myself, but from my observations, he was very smooth, especially for a big man. I also worked with Charlie at ABQ where he was the Assistant Manger to Buddy Knudson. Once again, a joy to work with and to know. -Jim Wilds (10/26/13) After the annual Christmas party in the hangar for kids, we used to go Christmas caroling with Santa (Charlie Carper) to any FAL employees house that lived near Stapleton. Great memories. -Jeanne Hanson (12/13/19)
