CELIA OWEN BEARDSLEY 1962 - 1971 FLIGHT ATTENDANT DEN Thought you all would like to know that Larry Beardsley passed quietly March 2, 2010 at the age of 92. I flew with Larry and his wife Celia 1962 to 1968 and have wonderful memories of him. -Bev Brown (5/5/10) I so appreciate the webpage. I don't know how you did it, but it is beautiful, Thank you so very much. It brought tears to my eyes and Lori also out daughter. I'm sure I would recognize you if I saw you. I recognized your name immediately. I flew for Frontier from 1962 to 1971. -Celia Beardsley (5/20/10) A few days ago the pastor of my church (Ron Thomas) wrote to you telling you about me lending my FAL uniform to the restaurant-owner in the Vero Beach FL airport for display and someone stole the hat. I tried to tell him that these uniforms were specially made for each Stew, and there wouldn't be extras just hanging around. I am glad to get in touch with someone connected with the old FAL because I've completely lost touch with everyone. My name when I was flying was Patty Reed. I didn't fly long just 1962 and 1963. I was working on the Convar 340 that crashed in Grand Island NE. in December of 62, pilot Joe Ramano and co-pilot Carl Bancroft. I lived in Aurora for 11 years after I got married and had 2 children. In the mid 70's I moved back to Indiana (where I was from) and I went to work for Allegheny Airlines/USAIR in reservations and worked for 20 years, before retiring in 96. I was divorced in the mid 70's and I remarried, and my second was a pilot for them also. So I've always been with an airline in some way. There is a gal who was my roommate, who I have completely lost track of and would love to find out what has happened with her. Her name was Celia Owen. Thank you for any information you might find. -Patty Reed Coleman (12/5/11) Thank you for forwarding Pattys e-mail address. I have been without a working computer for several months and finally have one now. How do I go about getting the newsletter. Larry & I used to subscribe to the newsletter that Ace put out. I hope this finds things going well for you. Thanks again. -Celia Beardsley (1/13/12) Just received sad news my ole flying partner and friend Celia (Owen) Beardsley passed March 16th with complications to COPD. Not really sure when she started with FAL I think around 1960 to 1973 - she was married to Capt. Larry Beardsley - I had many of fun times flying with Celia - we kept in touch over the years off and on she was a warm and lovely lady. -Bev Brown Armando (6/20/13) I'm sorry to hear about Celia. I had an email from her last year. Her photo is on page 125 of Bonnie Dahl's book. -Jake Lamkins (6/20/13) Sorry to hear... I met her in Merced CA about 1990. -Al Beardsley (6/20/13) Sadly, another loss to our FAL family. -Joanne Griffin (6/20/13) Paul and I have great memories of Celia, a most genuine and class lady. She will no doubt be missed by those who had kept in touch with her. -Penny Overdier (6/20/13) The info I gave was all I could get and it was from her daughter. They didn't do an obituary but she will put something together and send it to me and I will send it on to you and maybe u could post it with the picture u have of her. -Bev Brown Armando (6/21/13) Photos of Celia from 1969 & 1970 are reprinted with permission from the book FROM THE COCKPIT TO THE GALLEY by Bonnie C. Dahl and Patty A. McNeill. -Jake Lamkins (6/24/13) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: DEN flight attendant Celia Owen Beardsley's memorial webpage has been posted. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Celia_Beardsley.html -Jake Lamkins (6/25/13) Have many fond memories of Larry - always a gentleman and he, Celia & I had many a laughs and pleasant times. -Bev Brown Armando (6/27/13) Remembering his inflight commentaries and Celia was awarded her 5 yr. pin at my stew graduation ceremony. -Kathleen Dionne (6/27/13) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: Celia Owen Beardsley DEN flight attendant Celia Owen Beardsley's memorial webpage has been updated at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Celia_Beardsley.html Still need an obituary for her. -Jake Lamkins (12/1/17) I remember her, she was the best! -Steve Ensrud (12/1/17) Another great lady headed west. -Buck Hawk (2/7/17) Two of my dearest friends - Celia was my flying partner all the time I flew & Larry a dear dear friend whom I also flew with. -Beverly Armando (9/19/18) I flew many flights with Celia. -Gloria Croisant (9/19/18) Jake Lamkins on Facebook post to her grandson Lance Brough, do you have an obituary for your grandmother? We need one for her memorial webpage. Anything else you want to add too. Also for Larry. Lance Brough Jake, I don't believe her daughter "Lori" ever wrote one! Very sad! Celia was my Step-Grandmother, but I Loved her as my own! I lived with them for many years while growing up! I would like to write some interesting and historical information about my Grandfather! He was written about in several books and interviewed by Walter Cronkite for his amazing in-flight entertainment! He was always telling stories about the mid-west history... Mount Rushmore, The Sue Indians, Wild Bill and Calamity Jane etc. He had amazing and funny stories where ever he flew! (11/11/21)
