OBITUARY
Carolyn Ann Selinger, 72 of 3314 Sherbrook Road, Odessa, Texas, 
passed away on the 6th of June, 2011, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Carolyn was born Carolyn Ann Pittman in Sweetwater, Texas, 
on February 2nd, 1939, to Roy and Eugenia Pittman. 
She graduated from the school system in Sweetwater and attended SMU in Dallas. 
She was later employed as a stewardess with Central Airlines.
She had accepted a similar position with American Airlines when on the 21st of December, 1959, 
on a blind date, she met her future husband, Carl (Chuck) Selinger of Fort Worth. 
They were married six weeks later, and four days after her 21st birthday, on the 6th of February, 1960.
Carolyn's career was twofold; 
the gratification of rearing four outstanding children and her successful career as a Registered Nurse. 
Carolyn graduated with an associated degree from Odessa College's School of Nursing in 1978, 
and spent many years performing her duties as a dialysis nurse 
and working with the elderly in nursing homes in and around West Texas.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 51 years and four children; 
Tanner Selinger and wife Darlene, their children Aubree and Maddie of Grapevine, Texas, 
Eric Selinger and his daughter Elyssa Bo of Midland, Texas; 
Suzanne Hargis and husband Brian and their children Brandon and Lauren Ann of Erlanger, Kentucky 
and Richard Selinger and Lisa Webster and daughter Ava Grace of Houston. 
She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Pittman and wife Susan of Grapevine and Fort Davis, Texas, 
and their two sons Jay and Greer, a brother-in-law Hugo Selinger of St Louis, Missouri, 
and sister-in-law Carla Moulton of Lewisville, Texas, 
nine nieces and nephews and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. 
A memorial will be held for Carolyn June 18th at 10:00 AM at St Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Odessa.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hospice House of Odessa.
