BOB SCHULMAN 1975 - 1985 DIRECTOR-PUBLIC RELATIONS DEN In case you don't remember me, I was Frontier's pr guy for a decade or so. I think you know that we're stretching the annual reunion out to two days this year, starting with a reception on the night of Aug. 27. I'm working with Carolyn on a presentation for the reception. I need to talk to you about whether some of the content on your website (aircraft images, route maps, photos of execs, etc.) might be available for the presentation. If you'll give me your phone number I'll call you to chat about this. -Bob Schulman (7/13/11) Hi Bob, Great hearing from you. Of course, I remember you - even have an article on your arrival at FL in 1974 which is attached. I'm glad to hear you're helping Carolyn with the reunion. Please feel free to use anything on my FL websites for your presentation. Maybe give the website a plug so more FLolks will know about it. And I think it would be wonderful to have a CD of the program that all FLolks could buy. Best regards, -Jake Lamkins (7/13/11) Jake, that's very kind of you to offer content from your websites. You bet, we'll be sure to give your site a plug. Re: A CD or DVD of the program. I'm waiting for a call from the lady Carolyn found to produce the show. So I don't yet know whether it's going to be fully recorded (voice and visual content) or just visual with live narration. Either way, your stuff will probably give us 90 percent of the visuals. Do you remember a cover story in the Denver Post Empire Magazine (8-18-74) showing Al Feldman with a couple of flight attendants under the headline, "The Man Who Saved Frontier?" I have the actual cover, -Bob Schulman (7/13/11) Hi Bob, I don't find the 8-18-74 cover in my files. I would love a scan if you can send it. And anything else you think I could use for the FL website. Were you at FL to the end? What have you been doing since then? Regards, -Jake Lamkins (7/13/11) No, I wasn't there at the end. I took an early out a few months after Joe O'Gorman got there...he wasn't my favorite guy. After FAL bit the dust I helped start Reno Air, then the new Frontier. My employee # is 3. (Hank is #1, and Sam Addoms is #2.) I retired as VP-Corp. Communications almost 10 years ago. After that I was on the Board of a flaky airline in the Caribbean called Viva International for awhile, then I started part-time travel writing, more or less as a hobby. I guess you could say I'm semi-retired now. My hobby blossomed into an online travel magazine for baby boomers called www.WatchBoom.com. I try to do as little as possible, but I run around the world on press trips now and then to get stories. I'll ask the lady who's going to produce the presentation to scan the Feldman story for you. I don't have the gear for a 10" x 12" page scan. -Bob Schulman (7/13/18) Hi Jake, I'm pleased to report that our show on the 27th was a big hit, thanks in no small part to the images you so kindly let us borrow. As promised, Carolyn is snail-mailing a DVD to you. Condensing Frontier's 40 year history down to 15 minutes was quite a chore, but I think we covered most of the highlights either in the narration or in the images. Also as promised, you'll find credit to your site at the end of the DVD. Perhaps you could lift the downloading barrier sometime later. I hope you like the show. Again, we appreciate your help. -Bob Schulman and the 25th anniversary team (8/30/11) FLacebook Got word this morning from Barb Monday that Bob Schulman has passed away----no services.
