(She sent by letter which arrived 5/3) I'm attaching a scan for your files. -Jake Lamkins (5/3/07) Just a word of thanks to you for leaving a few words in the Guest Book for Bob. I appreciated it as well as our family. I'm enclosing a leaflet we had the grandkids hand out at the funeral. You might find it interesting. Thank you again, -Geri Estey and family (7/24/07) Thanks very much for Bob's burial note. I added it to Bob's memorial webpage at the Frontier Airlines website. -Jake Lamkins (7/24/07) Thank you for letting me know that you have added Bob to your Memorial website. This is a "massive job" you have undertaken, yet I know it must be wonderfully rewarding. Also, I had NO idea this website even existed. Bob would have been interested in it. Also, I have never seen this photo of Bob - he was not that "hung up" on himself, I think. As information, Bob's "challenges" were due to diabetes. Bob was put in Denver Hospice Care Center April 9 when I fell and broke my arm and needed surgery. He went to the Care Center for RESPITE CARE - care for no longer than five days and was to return home so I could continue taking care of him.. The physician at the Care Center thought he was a Hospice Patient (though she never would admit it) and took him off of seven of his nine prescriptions and all of his over-the-counter drugs - vitamins, minerals, St. Joseph Aspirin, etc. - the results hastened his death. When he went into the care center, he could walk, talk and feed himself. After taking him off these drugs, he could do none of that as his family would have liked to have heard what he wanted to say. He entered the Care Center on April 9, I was operated on April 10 (I now have a pin in my elbow), I was given one day to recuperate - April 11, and when I saw Bob on April 12, I knew he would never come out as he could not walk, talk or feed himself. His Death Certificate says NOTHING about the physician's error - so it will go "uncounted" as a physician's mistake. Most people know you do not quit taking drugs so bluntly - this physician has a lot to learn. The paperwork for Respite Care and Hospice were the same at that time. Our family had a meeting with the Hospice as to this and I told them it should be different and I didn't care if they "put it on fluorescent paper" but they need to do something different to alert EVERYONE ON THE STAFF as I did not want this to happen to one other person. Bob was "there" at the end of "the OLD FRONTIER." This was terribly hard on him emotionally as he was going through an emotional upheaval for himself and then had to take it upon himself to try to help others. It might interest you to know this - - - when personnel were allowed to go get their personal belongings at the hanger, Bob picked up a one-drawer file cabinet which had the I. A. M. files in it and Security would not let him take out "any company files." Bob tried to explain the file cabinet was NOT the Company's but was the Unions, he got nowhere. So he said he would "take it back." He got a piece of tape and wrote "IAM Union File" on it, placed it on the cabinet and Security let him take it out. Thanks again for everything you are doing for "the old Frontier Airlines" - keep up the good work! If you need help and think I can help you, do let me know! -Geri Estey (7/25/07) I just saw in today's Denver Post that Geraldine (Geri) Estey passed away. She was Bob Estey's wife.
