Bill began his career at Continental Airlines with the merger of Continental and Frontier, where he was hired in October 1977 as a First Officer on the B-737. He was, for a short time in 1994, a Training Instructor on the same equipment. In 1997, he was awarded Captain on the B-737; he bid and held Captain on the B-767 in 2005. Captain Obendorf is survived by his two children, son Brian Obendorf and daughter Kimberly Obendorf. Memorial services are as follows: 10:00 a.m. - Thursday, April 26th, 2012 Three Trees Chapel 13416 W. Arbor Place Littleton, CO 80127 Phone - (303) 932-227 Reception to follow: Home of Brian and Heather Obendorf 3226 E. 105th Place Northglenn, CO 80233 Phone - (701) 388-8724 Pilots are reminded to be in uniform if you plan to attend the services. I am saddened to share this with you. I was supposed to fly with Fred this Friday and was looking forward to it. I flew with him maybe 4 times over the years and he was someone that I looked forward to seeing, cigarettes and all. I know he commuted from Colorado and was divorced. Last I'd flown with him he was dating a gorgeous woman whom I met in San Fran (think she was from Sacramento?) during a layover. He loved his dogs and gave great PA's. I know he'll miss his Harley in this material world, but I somehow see him riding off into the sunset redlining that Harley all the way... Peace be with you Bill. I appreciated our time...
