BILL HILL 1962 - 1966 PILOT GSW MKC Published on: 12/12/2000 Bill Hill was raised in western Kansas. He started flying with Central Airlines and after four years and 3,000 hours, he joined Continental Airlines and recently has retired with 34 years. He has amassed a total of more than 25,000 hours and was qualified in 707, 720, 727, 747, DC-3 and DC-10. He was a personal pilot for the founder of Continental Airlines, Robert Six. During the Vietnam War, he flew Continental Airlines Military Airlift Command flying troops and supplies in and out of Vietnam. Bill held various positions at Continental: Flight Instructor, Director of Training and Director of Aircraft Acquisitions. What years did you fly at Central? -Jake Lamkins, CN agent 1964-67 (1/2/09) I pulled out the old log book and on July 29,1962 McKesson signed me off in the DC-3. They had me on the MKC/DEN #93 August 1 with Dodd, aircraft 285. My last flight with Central was on Feb. 15,1966 - #54 DEN/MKC, aircraft 287. Started class with Continental on Feb. 28, 1966. Great times and a great learning experence with all the pilots at Central. -Bill Hill (1/3/09) I received word that Bill Hill passed away. Bill was a CN pilot . Started around 1964, based in MKC, left CN in 1966 for CO. He was living in the HOU area. Hobby was racing sport cars. Running in OK, not feeling well, pulled over, got out and collapsed.
