BILL DURLIN 1948 - 1986 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, TECHNICAL ASSISTANT, MANAGER OF ENGINEERING PROGRAMS, DIRECTOR OF QUALITY CONTROL, VICE PRESIDENT-ENGINEERING & QUALITY CONTROL DEN My start with FL began in the Spring on 1968 in Programs & Publications, working for Dallas Mortenson, Director and Bill Durlin, V.P. I had just finished B-727 school at Boeing and was an employee at that time with Pacific Northern Airlines as a foreman in their maintenance department. PNA went on to get B-720s instead. Carl Willman was going to B-727 school at the same time along with Dallas. They offered me a job so... When FL decided to get B-737s, Carl needed help, so... I worked for Carl until we were loaded with -37s. Bill Durlin needed to lay someone off in the Engineering Dept. so I took early retirement on Sept. 31, 1984. I just missed the big shakeup. -Frank Winzeler, Yuma, AZ (2/8/03) Wanted to be sure everyone saw the obit for Bill Durlin in today's paper (see attached).
