BEARL DAVIS 1961 - 1986 STATION AGENT, RELIEF AGENT, STATION MANAGER MKO MLC TUL Subject: Walker Collins Was Walker the one who drove the hi-lift truck - remember they didn't have cabs or even windshields, at least the one we had in MLC didn't - down the turnpike to MLC when they closed MKO? They had to get a special permit because the truck didn't have license plates and, the way I heard it, he wore barnstormer goggles. -Geoff Morneau (7/11/07 No, that wasn't Walker. He never worked either MLC or MKO. If it was a MKO agent, it was probably Bearl Davis who was there a long time. The FYV agent who went to MLC was Gordon Smith who went to TUL after MLC. Our hi-lift truck in FYV was as you described too - not street legal at all. -Jake Lamkins (7/11/07) Jul 1973 is last route map showing MKO. Bearl went to TUL after MKO closed.
